tactile Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Hi Folks,This is probably a very stupid question, but I'm wondering if switches need to have a ground pin? The schematic on the uCApps DIN page shows a ground bus. Is this essential (cheaper tact switches seem to come without ground pins)?
seppoman Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Every switch has (at least) two pins. The "GND pin" is the one where you connect GND to. You can choose one of them freely ;)
nILS Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 ...You can choose one of them freely ;)It's generally better to use the left one :D
/tilted/ Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I usually use the other one.I connect one pin to the DIN board, then i connect the other one to GND.
