Braintu
Hi everybody,I have a detailed problem. When I send the MIDI START command, is it the command that every device starts, means that this is the first clock command ORis the START command something like 'everybody be careful the next command is the first CLOCK' and the next CLOCK comming in is the "one".- Got the problem?Would be nice if somebody can help me or give me some literature.best D
TK.
is the START command something like 'everybody be careful the next command is the first CLOCK' and the next CLOCK comming in is the "one".yes, thats the way it worksWould be nice if somebody can help me or give me some literature. Here an excerpt from the MIDI spec:http://web.archive.org/web/20071005165309/www.borg.com/~jglatt/tech/midispec/seq.htmThere was also a discussion in the (german) sequencer forum a while ago:http://www.sequencer.de/synthesizer/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=36650Best Regards, Thorsten. lylehaze
Thorstens first link was to an archive of Jeff Glatts old MIDI site.It was a great MIDI reference website, but it has been gone for over a year now.I did some research and actually found Jeff. I wanted to find a new host for his site, but he had already done so. He has given me permission to share the new address.http://home.roadrunner.com/~jgglatt/You'll find the same page that Thorsten showed you there, under"Technical Docs and programming","The MIDI Specification","Syncing Sequence Playback".You will also find a lot of other great information about MIDI.Big thanks to Jeff Glatt for keeping the site alive!LyleHaze
J Martins
Surely LyleHaze it has great info in that link! Thanks for share it!But I just has found 2 broken links in the website, well, these ones 'install MIDI IO' in the REXX stuff section and 'PC keyboard to MIDI note controller adapter' in the hardware section. Both seemed interesting for my needs.Anyway is good website. I suggest to put the link on Wiki.K.
TK.
The link is already in the Wiki:http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midi_specificationI prefer to use the web.archive link since I know that it will exist permanently ;)Best Regards, Thorsten.
