MB-6582 Power Supply population...

This is a very n00b question to ask, but I'll ask it anyways because several searches haven't come up with an answer.

On the MB-6582 Base PCB, you have 4 different power options (A, B, C and D).  All have their own parts that are used to populate the board depending on what power supply you have.

My question is would it cause problems to fully populate the board so all of the parts are installed?  I was thinking about this because I'm not sure if I will have a working C64 power supply (Still waiting on eBay), and in the future, I might need to use an alternate supply if something should happen to the supply I ordered.

Sorry if this has been covered already, but I wanted to know before I went any further with the project.

I'm a noob but...

The first section is about the PSU.  It seems A and B are mutually exclusive, and C and D are so complicated that they'd each be mutually exclusive with others.

I have two C64 PSUs, and I'm not too afraid of either breaking, plus I might come across even more in my search for SID chips, so I'm going with option B.

I suggest choosing A or B... if you can't get a C64 PSU, then you can perhaps build an external PSU that supplies 9V AC and regulated 5V DC (even two walwarts could do this, though not as elegantly). Option D is really for people making their own PSU with transformers/regulators and putting it in the case, powering other stuff at the same time (like analog filters), thus the regulators on the base PCB would be redundant - the PSU they use would generate regulated 5V/9V/12V voltages. If you're building the MB-6582 into the standard PT-10 case etc. then Option D is not really possible... Option A or B with external PSU is better. Option C is not recommended - it's a possible workaround solution that to my knowledge no one has used, again, Option A or B with external PSU is better.

OK, A or B it is.  Thanks Wilba.

I read the Wiki, I was a bit confused by what I thought were extra parts in the Smash Kit.  I guess Smash was planning for all the options, which is a good thing.
