runinit
I just found this product on the net, it appears to be a plastic with a very low melting point. I'm getting a little to see how translucent it is. Maybe this would be useful for custom buttons?
findbuddha
Looks interesting.... are you trying to make button caps? I'm about to get some made at Ponoko.
runinit
Any idea on the price? Good button caps are impossible to find. I was thinking I could get a mold or two CNCed and make the buttons with the stuff. I ordered the sample pack to check it out. WE'll see soon enough! findbuddha
Not yet. The material I'll use (acrylic) is very cheap. It's laser cut not milled so that's fairly cheap too. My plan is to use 3 layers of acrylic + led for DIY illuminated button caps. I hope to be able to get one of the layers from the cutout holes in the front panel to save money. It's easy to get a quote - get a starter kit from here (inkscape is free)

runinit
i was thinking that it would be useful for making more unique layouts (buttons around a jogwheel, etc) but i guess you could do the same with the method you guys posted.
