dtg84
Dear MIDIboxers, Here is a simple track I threw together after spending some time getting to know the OPL3. Using mostly stock sounds and presets (with some CC automation here and there), it has kind of a shmup or racing game kind of feel. Hope you enjoy it! toadstool
Brilliant! I particularly love the modulated lead sound around 1:17 and the swishy sound at 1:45. Evocative of those halcyon days gone by.
m00dawg
Indeed there's some good stuff working in this track, nice tune! I do love that awesome FM sound!
dtg84
Thanks guys. BTW @m00dawg, really digging your "Victim Cache" tunes.
m00dawg
Ah thanks! Glad you like it! Not as much MidiBox stuff used on our first album (some here and there) but we use the NES and GameBoy quite a bit.
JRock
Cool song. That modulated part is awesome. Using CCs to control the LFO?
dtg84
@ JRock: I used the CCs to automate operators' frequency multiplicators. I think for the next track I will try to make some more interesting modulations and avoid using just presets.
m00dawg
MBFM's random patch generator I found to amazing on that note if you are wanting to have a good basis to start with for new patches. It's incredible how dynamic they can be!
TK.
Awesome work! Do you allow me to add this tune to the MBFM demos at my website? :) Best Regards, Thorsten.
