ascarrar Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew what the status of the midibox 3396 synth project was. I saw on the wiki that someone attempted to start the project, but seems it never got off the ground.
jojjelito Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Purrty much! Something will happen. Later rather than sooner.
ascarrar Posted September 6, 2012 Author Report Posted September 6, 2012 Well i'm interested in the sooner rather than later. Therefore i would be willing to design and layout the circuit if someone else helps me with the programming (i have no experience with mios or pics for that matter). Purrty much! Something will happen. Later rather than sooner.
jojjelito Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 At the moment it's more a question of having time for that project vs the rest of the backlog plus personal stuff More in due time.
NorthernLightX Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 Since I needed a few rare ICs from utsource I ordered a CEM3396 as well, so if this project ever takes off I'm in :w00t: From what I've read about the CEM339x is that the 3394 is voltage controlled in the "official" sense, and the 3396 is microcontroller controlled, but if you feed a pulse wave to the inputs it will actually work. I don't know in what way and am pretty sure that controlling it from a microcontroller directly is probably a lot more versatile, but it is a start.
