FantomXR Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Hey folks, there is an idea in my head. I think about creating a modular midi controller system. There should be a "core" with SCS on top. From there you can connect other modules to this core via a multipin-connector. But before I put more effort in this idea I'd need to know, if there is a limitation in the length of the cables that f.e. connect various DIN and DOUT modules. Did anyone test it? Thanks, Chris
novski Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Hi Chris There is a limitation. Thats why there was recently a linedriver module developed: http://ucapps.de/mbhp_line_driver.html Best Regards Novski
FantomXR Posted January 28, 2015 Author Report Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Hi Novski, thatnks for the link. I already noticed that TK has developed this. But the connector is way to big for my ideas. I want to use another very small connector and I want to add various of them to the core-module (one for analog modules, one for digital, one for displays, etc.) instead of one big LPT connector. Are there any informations about the maximal length of the cables? //edit: And also it seems that there are no short parallel-port-cables. The minimum I found is 1,20m. My idea is, to use cables which are not longer than 30cm. Edited January 28, 2015 by FantomXR
