mongrol Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 Would this board be a working prebuilt ETH module perhaps? http://core-electronics.com.au/enc28j60-ethernet-lan-network-module.html
arumblack Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 I'm No expert, and its hard to tell just looking at a picture of the board, but it sure looks almost exactly like the schematic for the ETH module. connector pinning appears different but it has the right signals present. I bet it would work.
arumblack Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 And then I scroll down and see a schematic. only a few slight differences.CS and RESET have 10K pull ups not present in the MBHP ETH schematic, and the MBHP ETH has an extra 100uf cap on the pin 1/2, and 100nf cap on VDDTX (bypass cap). A few resistor values are slightly different. only thing I see as a potential problem is the extra pull ups, which could be desoldered if needed, which I again am no expert and maybe they are fine to leave in....
Keeze Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) It looks like the module is a generic 3.3V SPI module, so it should work. I can't think of any reason why not. Those modules can be bought from Ebay for about $2.5 including ww-shipping. Think I order some to try them out. Edited March 23, 2016 by Keeze
Rowan Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 It should work, I'm using the same kind of thing on my MBSEQ. Have a look at this thread as it may help.
mongrol Posted March 23, 2016 Author Report Posted March 23, 2016 Thanks folks. I have a Core-Elec voucher to use up so I'll just get one and see.
