For completion's sake, did you get the ST7066U LCD working?

Btw, these threads aren't a waste of time, as there's a lot of good troubleshooting tips. Could be a useful entry for the wiki?

Yes ! My New Haven LCD displays work fine....so ST7066U controller is HD44780 compatible !

Now I get another problem, but that will be in another topic !
