core testing/troubleshooting

I've done the voltage testing on my core module and everything looks good. I'm trying to check the midi 'ping' using a Midi Monitor on my iBook which has a Midiman Midisport 2x2 interface and I'm not getting anything at all.

I placed a LED across the two outer pins of J12 and get a steady pulse every couple seconds.

Is this suggesting that the signal is there but my software, midi interface is not picking it up for some reason? I'm just trying to avoid ripping the core apart if its a computer problem :)

Thanks all!

The bootloader is loaded but now that I think about it, I still need to load a program.... duh.

I'm retarded. Thanks.

OK. Problem solved. Midi polarity was reversed  :P (which I triple-checked before noticing)

Now I'm checking the voltage on CORE:J10 after connecting my SID module and I am not getting 5v across the leads. After checking traces leading up to that, I am stumped.

I'm getting about 0.9 volts right now. I'm continuing to investigate but maybe one of you have an idea?

Thanks again!

You could follow the tracks from J2 to J10 with the probes of your multimeter in order to find the error.

Best Regards, Thorsten.
