maniac Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Hi,i have Yamaha SW60XG soundcard, which is really good. Unfortunetly it is old ISA soundcard, so it is imposible to use it with modern computers.I just wonder if it's possible to connect it to PIC somehow ? Card do not use IRQ and DMA.If You heve any knowledge about isa protocol, or any idea how to do it, please let mi know :)Regards,Przemek Quote
pilo Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Card do not use IRQ and DMA.mmm so it seems doable!! if you just need to put the right adress on the isa bus. And then use a pic pin per isa signal.I don't where to find Isa pinout, but I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to do!;) Quote
d2k Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 http://www.techfest.com/hardware/bus/isa.htmI think TK mentioned a mbhp-isa bridge before with regards to a awe32 - of course I have one ready n waiting ;D Quote
maniac Posted June 18, 2004 Author Report Posted June 18, 2004 d2k -> thanks for this link, it is, whot i was looking for :)The other question is how to translate midi commands into MPU-401 (whot should i send to the soundcard). If somebady has informations about MPU-401 programming and/or sw60xg soundcard, please let me know :)BTW. ISA bridge is a very good idea - fm synt combined with sid synth... and sb live card for effects... :o Quote
