Hi,

i have Yamaha SW60XG soundcard, which is really good. Unfortunetly it is old ISA soundcard, so it is imposible to use it with modern computers.

I just wonder if it's possible to connect it to PIC somehow ? Card do not use IRQ and DMA.

If You heve any knowledge about isa protocol, or any idea how to do it, please let mi know :)

Regards,

Przemek

Card do not use IRQ and DMA.

mmm so it seems doable!! if you just need to put the right adress on the isa bus. And then use a pic pin per isa signal.

I don't where to find Isa pinout, but I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to do!

;)

d2k -> thanks for this link, it is, whot i was looking for :)

The other question is how to translate midi commands into MPU-401 (whot should i send to the soundcard).

If somebady has informations about MPU-401 programming and/or sw60xg soundcard, please let me know :)

BTW. ISA bridge is a very good idea - fm synt combined with sid synth...  and sb live card for effects... :o
