Hermes
HI guysSome time ago I bought 2 pieces of Batron BT22008 LCDs on ebay. When I connect them to the core of my mbsid they light up and I can control the brightness, but there are no letters or even black rows at all - and of course I cannot control the contrast - or so it seems.Could anyone please tell me if they are hd44780 compatible? And if they have, do they need a voltage inverter ( do they need -5V?)Here are the specs datasheethttp://www.data-modul.de/upload/displays/pdf/BT_22008.pdfThanks in advance
moebius
Hi,SPLC780 controller is on my HD44780 compatible list ;) (http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=parts_q;action=display;num=1099842869)It's very likely that it works..And it seems that your display needs that negative LCD..Bye, Moebius
Hermes
thx moebius!!But how can I supply the negative voltage?
moebius
Hi,If you don't have negative supply available, you can use something like Microchip TC7660 (many IC manufacturers offer similar devices, usually part number ends with 7660) charge pump to convert positive voltage to negative one. It needs minimal external parts, and is pretty cheap. Then you just connect contrast pot (trimmer) between new negative supply and gnd, and pot wiper goes to LCD pin3 (V0)Bye, Moebius
