amando Posted September 11, 2002 Report Posted September 11, 2002 Some times, I discharge static to the Box, then it hangs and I have to turn power off 2 seconds for reset, I cant put a ground wire because my box run with 12v rechargable battery (for more portablility), I don't want damage the unit, may be the solution a capacitor? were I can connect it? to chasis and V+? TK. Posted September 12, 2002 Report Posted September 12, 2002 Hi Amando,ESD is a really new issue! Are you using a metal or a wooden case? If metal: It makes sense to connect the ground of the MIDIbox with the chassis, just to ensure that Vss is on the same voltage level like the outer world. On this way, the circuit should not be affected by discharges. I'm not sure if an additional cap could help.Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
amando Posted September 12, 2002 Author Report Posted September 12, 2002 Thanks Thorsen, the case it's metalic and connect to gnd for the jack "power in" (battery rechargue in) Quote
TK. Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Hm... do you notice the same effect when you use an isolated plug for the power-in and connect the ground of the MIDIbox with the metal case? Because this should be the common wiring.Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
amando Posted September 29, 2002 Author Report Posted September 29, 2002 This not occur with the power rechargue plug conected. Quote
