MIDIbox of the Week (Traktor Controller by Richard)

Richard has built an eye-catching black/red box to control Traktor. He wrote:

Attached are pictures of a midibox64 built as a Traktor controller.

I am UK based.

The front panel is a sheet of galvanised steel backed with 3mm plywood.

Printed paper cutouts stuck to it ten covered in clear plastic.

No great problems building it, all using stripboard curcuit boards.

Keep up this amazing project, as we all apprechiate your time & enthusiam.

My question is how does the "wind" function works. Does is utilise a rotary encoder? If so does the deck spin forward and backward as you twiddle the knob ---- or: (which is what i found out) fasten up the deck if given a value above 64 and reverse the deck if given a value below 64???

It isn't a rotary encoder.  I found your problem when testing the knob out.  So I assigned it to deck seek position instead, which I find is probably a better substitute. The pitch bend buttons can act as the wind function as well.

Hm, how do u use pitch bend buttons as wind-buttons? Is that the same function or?
