SounDuke Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Hello, does anyone know where to find a 2x10 vfd bargraph (1x10 ok too)? Thanks in advance
Screaming_Rabbit Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 ... why don't make one out of a single line character vfd?http://www.parallax.com/images/robotics/machining/rpm_display/avi/RPMDisplay.AVIhttp://cgi.ebay.com/D013-NEW-Noritake-Itron-VFD-Fluorescent-Display-Module_W0QQitemZ7544220822QQcategoryZ26206QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemGreets, Roger
SounDuke Posted September 11, 2005 Author Report Posted September 11, 2005 Hi,I thought about it, but since I designed the circuit with an LM3915 to monitor on logarithmic scale audio signals amplitude, I don't know how to implement it to a normal VFD. Have you got some clues on how to do it (LM3915 can drive up to 10 leds, more than 10 would be really appreciated ;) Maybe using another IC?

Look at the datasheet:http://www.national.com/ds.cgi/LM/LM3915.pdfRaphael
SounDuke Posted September 11, 2005 Author Report Posted September 11, 2005 Thanks raphael, the question is: the datasheet shows how to interface the lm3915 to VFD bargraph.normal VFD's (I'm used only to noritake U-series so same interface as HD44780) offer same pinning of standard hd44780 lcd's. there are not as many pin as character number on display, that's because I don't know how to interface the LM3915 to a VFD
SounDuke Posted September 11, 2005 Author Report Posted September 11, 2005 I forgot: the best deal would be to use one vfd 2x16 to monitor a stereo signal
