I'm using Ableton Live as my Host.

I connect my 'custom' midibox and i receive the midi messages ok.

After a while my Host just stops responding to my midi messages.

In the midi-monitor of MIOS-studio i can see that there are still midi-messages comming in (the ones that i'm sending !)

How can it be that my host is not receiving these messages?

Is it because i'm not sending an FE (active sensing) command every 200ms????

I haven't read about such a problem yet, therefore it's unlikely that Ableton requires a periodically sent FE.

Maybe Ableton users know more about such an issue?

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Never experienced problems using my midibox with Live.. Check out the midi interface, I'm using a midex 8 and it works perfectly except for a driver or Windows bug which make mios block when no midi ports are opened by software in the interface and I connect the midibox to it

Yes, I guess it's a problem with my midi-interface.

When i connect my midibox to the laptop (m-audio audiophile firewire midi-interface, same as i have) it works perfectly with Live.

I've installed the latest driver for my own audophile firewire.

I'll check the driver-version he installed for his audiophile.

Thanks for your replies!!!

I've found the problem (and fixed it).

Turns out to be my firewire interface on my motherboard. I've tested a pci-firewire card of a collegue and in worked for 6 hour (then i turned it off  ;) )

So anyone with problems with their midi-connection dissapearing (in Live 5.0) should try replacing their firewire interface.

Ramonster
