Notice the luminance change?

Are there LCD's where the core's luminance control doesn't have a very noticeable effect on anything? I'm running a backlit 2x16 here and can't really tell the difference.

check on the datasheet that it is 10k thats needed ?

yeah very little change on one of mine i remember.

i used a jumper wire instead (which maybe should've been a low Ohm resistor?)

my contrast pot only really works at the end of its range..no problem though.
