  1. That should be fine.. So choose a .hex file and use mios studio to upload. From the readme included in the zip file: Some precompiled setups are part of this package: o setup_6581.hex (MBSID stuffed with 6581) o setup_8580.hex (MBSID stuffed with 8580) o setup_tk.hex (TK's Setup) o setup_mb6582.hex (MB-6582 Setup) o setup_tk2.hex (TK's Setup for his MB-6582) o setup_sammich_sid.hex (Special setup for sammichSID) They don't need renaming, they are the same as project.hex. If it still doesn't work try to upload mios again from the 'midi' folder in this http://ucapps.de/mios/mios_v1_9g.zip file, then retry the sid firmware.
  2. If you have an older core you should find what you need in this zip - http://uCApps.de/mios/midibox_sid_v2_043.zip. you might need to update your bootloader too?
  3. Here's 2 crappy pics from my tablet of tpd using futurlec 7seg digits and green/orange duoled's. Although maybe impossible to see i had to klugde my encoder to work in the correct direction. Last time i cut pcb tracks, this time i just used wires to connect the opposite sides of the encoder.
  4. hi, its SR 11 for led's with wilba's pcb. which is red or green and which button it's for i fumbled about with for ages. mine are too bright and i haven't changed my resistors yet so they're not in use. checking my .v4 file i had used pin 3 & 7 at some point.. my sd card does not work in file browse mode every time in x64 so i lost some configs.
  5. Looks the same as the 1 i am using. The main thing being you just connect the 3.3v and ignore the 5v. So try this: cs=rc1 mosi=so sck=sc miso=si
  6. i have mute/unmute all tracks on 2 buttons. tap tempo on another. 1 spare. plus the encoder button. i found the pin numbers by watching the output in mios studio terminal..
  7. ilmenator or Hawkeye can you help me with the SR config, just built mine and have some signs its working but the only config on the wiki is for seq including 16x4 blm. I have wilba pcb + tpd only. Or have i missed the config somewhere else on ucapps? Thanks too for a great addition. Not too much stress with the smd, plenty of space compared to some i have worked on.
  8. Hey i ended up with 2 of these after a long wait for my backorder.. first one i had already soldered the female headers so it always wants to pop out! The second one i attached all the headers together and soldered at an angle so it doesnt look perfect but works fine.. pinout seems ok. Two new working seqv4. If it had not worked i would've taken pics and posted sooner! Mine were from mouser.
  9. hey Nervrem, this guy sells encoder ledring pcb http://mayhewlabs.com/products/rotary-encoder-led-ring you can get @ sparkfun too i think. also a company called top-up makes these ..and others including RGB.. :ahappy:
  10. hey i can test this but as far as i remember i only have 1 digit of the right 'common' variety.. plenty of the other. i'll check later. so is this common anode or cathode? simple to change in software? i could order some more too. oh this would be on seqv4 with STM core.
  11. :frantics: got mine. great service TK, very quick delivery! these complete the electronics. now i gotta whip up a frontplate.
  12. :flowers: nice pcb, you're too good to us TK!
  13. got my lpcexpresso.. bootloader flashed.. hoping my pcb arrives soon!! cant wait :frantics: thanks TK!
  14. hi again. ok. question time.. your soldering on TLV is fine i think but did you test with multimeter ? are the opamps in their sockets properly ? did mios and mbcv app upload correctly ? is your led lit ? connected to core as shown in this file: mbcv_aout_ng_interconnections.pdf ? (link dead!) have you checked #define DEFAULT_AOUT_INTERFACE 3 (and recompiled) ? do you get gate(s) on note-on(s) ? have you set MIDI EVENT to NOTE ? do you see meters move per channel when sending midi ? have you checked all 8 cv channels for voltage change ? (maybe some are working) has it magically started working ? (it happens..) also i think you should connect all your jacks grounds together and then make one connection back to core OR aout_ng.. i kinda remember having a similar problem and thought i had fried my DAC but it was fine. my problem ended up being my jacks were all connected but not connected to my midibox ground. duhh! :pinch:
  15. as the expansion continues it becomes even more complex. wait and check with other users for more hints, but my system is like this: i've just continuity checked and both grounds are connected on mine.. and it's gotta be the alum. frontplates and jacks, it's also then connected across 3 separate metal racks via patch & midi leads.. it has been a while but i did have all kinds of prob when i upgraded my psu(s) and added more modules.. dunno if that helped (but maybe?) i'm 100% diy and i just do what works so you might need some other advice! :D
  16. hi LB, i do the same. but i am using mbseq. +/-15v is no prob. there was another post with similar symptoms to you. they hadnt connected ground at the modular pwr connector. see here: so it all depends... but try that first. like nILS said you need just one ground going everywhere its needed. just had a look at mine and i've disconnected it.. strange & i dont remember why. my aout_ng is connected to ground via core. my jacks are daisychained just like yours. seppoman may have info on testing the DAC. and how are you powering your core? good luck. gotta be something simple.
  17. hey i figure R32 is on the core32 (not the aout) and that'd be why your aout works with your mb6582 and not mbseq.. the 102 is 1k. the 103 is 10k. different indeed. also resistor networks come in flavours as mentioned. you need the 'bussed' variety.(common pin 1). shouldn't be a problem once that's corrected and if you have a socket in R32 position but not correct resistor network you can solder 4 normal resistors together in the 'bussed' style.
  18. hi all, i used these ebay tact switches on wilba's seq cs pcb. http://cgi.ebay.com/100pcs-Tactile-Push-Button-Switch-Momentary-Tact-Caps-/370371926198?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563be318b6#ht_806wt_908 round = only one colour, blue. also available with square tops and 5 colours.
  19. yeah the direct i/o error is windows 7 related. i used win xp. try a virtual machine? :hmm: the parport drivers don't work with vista and above i think. this is the one i used: http://www.direct-io.com/Direct-IO/download.htm this one says nt/2000: http://www.beyondlogic.org/porttalk/porttalk.htm there is another one too, what was it called? :ermm: edit: it was called port95. useless also. so grab this and let us all know how it goes, verified working win7x64, also x86 ver incl. http://www.highrez.co.uk/scripts/download.asp?package=InpOutBinaries you do have to rename InpOut32.dll to DLPortIO.dll (and place in openocd directory) good luck! it's your best bet with win7.
  20. yeah mbcv is a great standalone box for such a thing and you can use it without an lcd if you don't use presets. i've got 2 MPS's and they trigger fine from mbhp. i have an mbcv with 8 gate outs and 2 cv outs (aout-lc). i also have seq v3 with 8 gate outs. best of all build seq v4 with aout-ng (8 gate & 8 cv) and not need a computer.. perfect if u plan on a long adventure in modular-land. i didn't mention pitch cv control of MPS cos i've just realised mine is non-functional! but it is analog and not really 'midifiable' besides the gate & pitch. (unless you really want to go there.. :twitch: )
  21. want. TK it's amazing the efforts you contribute to all of us midiboxers! and without a PCB, you must be happy that was a one-off. now i'm thinking of building another seqv4 + blm! i like the look of an all-in-one pcb/frontpanel.. :D
  22. ok, i've sent you a link, try that and post back here. one thing i remember doing was copy those .cfg files to the same directory so i didnt have any issues with path names.. i have no LED on mine. or did you mean on the core? mine wiggler was core powered, but my core was powered with wallwart/plugpack not USB. check your voltages. check you're using 74HC244. check the correct transistor (if not check pinout). check resistor values. sorry but all this was done on a now dead laptop! openocd does still give some error but the bootloader uploads fine. i'm sure you'll get there in the end.. it can be annoying but you learn something along the way, and it's great once it does work!
