monokinetic Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Hello all you electronics fiends ;-)so I'm about to obtain my PICs and realised that I may as well get some bankstick chipz as well. But they come in a few packaging types which I've not heard of:PDIP 300milSOIC 208milSOIC 150milCan anyone explain which of these would be best because i havent bought IC's since I was a kid!!!Thanks in advanceDave
MrMusicman Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Hey DaveYou should get the PDIP 300mil, thats the "normal" type to solder on the backside of the mounting (PCB) board. The 2 other are for surface mounting, and are hard solder in hand.300mil is the the size of it = 7.56mm between the 2 row of legs.Have a nice day.Kent
