Hello all you electronics fiends ;-)

so I'm about to obtain my PICs and realised that I may as well get some bankstick chipz as well. But they come in a few packaging types which I've not heard of:

PDIP 300mil

SOIC 208mil

SOIC 150mil

Can anyone explain which of these would be best because i havent bought IC's since I was a kid!!!

Thanks in advance

Dave

Hey Dave

You should get the PDIP 300mil, thats the "normal" type to solder on the backside of the mounting (PCB) board.

The 2 other are for surface mounting, and are hard solder in hand.

300mil is the the size of it = 7.56mm between the 2 row of legs.

Have a nice day.

Kent
