DrBunsen
Hey TK, in no way was I asking you to take on designing yet more interfaces for the MBHP. The sound recorder chip is just something I've been looking at for a while, and I threw it out there for anyone else who might be interested.I was under the impression this was an open-slather design discussion forum for all MBHP hackers and fans, not a "please TK build me this cool thing I saw" whine site. I think by opening up the MIOS for us all to read and tinker with, you've done enough (lots!)I'm amazed at the work you have done already, and given to the world. There's no need to load you up with more :-)

TK.
No ;-)The ISA bridge will be unidirectional and only helpfull to access soundchips directly in the same manner like I did it with the SID.Best Regards, Thorsten.

bluelost
Hello Thorsten.....i was just gonna come into the forum to suggest the possibility of using OPL chips like you use the SID...and whattya know?? its already here.the idea of using the 64 pot midibox on FM is a dream come true.....even the dx200 was very flawed in the real time editing department...too many shift key changes and the individual operators we're only accessable thru software. :'(condtrolling FM synthesis with the midibox 64 would be the epitomy of FM power...better than ANY synth yamaha ever built (although we WOULD be using their chips of course ;) hee hee)i can already imagine tweaking the FM depth levels of one operator while at the same time.....changing the frequency of another...making crazy changing warping clashing sounds.where can i get an ISA bridge? i didnt find it in the MBHP pagesThorsten could you tell me where a newbie could find info on programming hardware?i want to build synths and/or controllers...i know its not simple but that all the more reason to hurry and get startedif i have a project in mind i just have no idea how to get started..what hardware is nessacary..what the specs on the hard ware mean to me as synth/controllercreater.....what makes certain hardware compatible with others or what makes them not. how to integrate parts of hardware (chips, etc.) so that they work together.any and all information on where to look to learn these things would be very apprectiated by me.Thanks ....Corey

bluelost
(continued)i guess i need to know the fundamentals....so i can build my own stuff.....it sucks having to depend on someone else to build things...or just wait hoping a manufacturer or something will just someday make what i want...i want to be creative.... i wanna build things myself...but i know *almost* nothing about digital electronics and how to use it to make the things i wanna make.....so if you could point me in the direction of where i could learn these things it would be great.(sorry for such long posts, i'll try to cut down the size in the future)thank for any of your help thorsten.
