henrygr
Have a look at this http://www.fibertechdiy.com/fibertech-patch/product-info.htm.I bought a 225 by 300mm patch today. Set me back a whopping €20. Will put it to use some time this week, and will do a photo shoot of it for the sake of formulating a proper technique (not so you can all have a good laugh at my oftentimes crass DIY, or out of context photographs of my feet as I point my camera/phone down toward the table).Comments? Suggetion?Mark.
Jidis
When you said feet, I thought you were going to describe something like this:--- That's a fake BTW. I sanded it for real with both hands but couldn't hold a camera like that. ;DGeorge (longing for that prehensile tail :'()

Jidis
Henry,Forgot to mention: Not sure what you're doing with the patches, but if you're looking into making parts or enclosures, you might want to check into the "Bondo" type fillers and two part fiberglass resin. I did an enclosure a while back with that ( http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=4411.0 ) and use it for parts as well. You don't really need the Bondo (putty) part for most stuff I guess, but it can add strength for certain applications and with the right mix, can be spread about like peanut butter or poured into a mold if more resin is added. It also mixes with certain paints.Take Care

Mr modnaR
that patch stuff is very good actually, we use it at my garage, where it's apt name is 'Bodge Patch'. but you can seriously make enclosures quite easily with it. i would advise getting a UV tube though, as, unless it's sunny, you'll be waiting for quite a while with daylight. the only proble i can foresee is that it has an adhesive film on the bottom surface, which may cause problems with putting it in a mold. i think you can peel it off, but it may be quite messy!! there's also a clear plastic film on the top surface which allows you to push it into nooks and crannies without it sticking to your fingers. this can be peeled off after setting.hope this helps.ps, our supplier is Hutton Supplies (uk based) Tel: 01202 481706
henrygr
Yeah sorry. Time for an updat. I agree thet you need blacklight. Three days now, and the small coerner I left on the widowsill still hasn't set (ever seen an Irish guy with a tan?)It stinks, just to let you all know. I removed the backing to see if the glue will dry out also. If it doesn't, I don't see it as a major stumbling block. I could easily put a layer of cling film there and then let it set. I also got some MorphPlast off of ebay. Am waiting delivery. This is the injection mould plastic that melts at 60 degrees to become maleable, and then sets when it cools down. It will be interesting to see how that works. Imagine doing a gig and your keyboard dissapears under the lights!!! He he. We used to do music, and now we're magicians!!Goe mine in Atlantic Homecare in Dublin. Don't know if B&Q stock it.Mark.
