pilgrims1 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Can I connect 24LED rings(consists of 8 leds) with one DoutX4 module??If possible? thats good to me ..... I will connect 96 LED rigns with only 4 DoutX4 module... ^^ Quote
levon Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 i believe you can only have 64 leds with 1 DINx4... so that is only 8 Led rings per DINx4so with 4 DINx4 you could have 32 led rings. Quote

stryd_one Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 DOUT = Digital OUTput ....one DOUT has 8 outputs (D0-D7)As in, one DOUTx1 module has 8 outputs (DOUTs)... Just being pedantic ;) Quote
levon Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 hahah, yesterday was just one of those days where your brain decided F*** you, im not working today.yes i ment to say DOUT. Quote
Sinnsyk Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 please please please!use ucapps and the wiki :Phttp://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_doutx4_ledrings.pdffound on the DOUT-module Page...this is a diagram for 16 LEDrings, and you can make them out of max 16 led's each. In this example they use 11 leds/ring Quote
pilgrims1 Posted May 10, 2007 Author Report Posted May 10, 2007 Thank you everyone who interest in my question.....Ofcause I know... 16 Led-Rings with 11 led... pdf....But My interesting is saving DOUT Modules...... ^^*Is it possible with some modification code???Pardon me.. my toddling is very slow... ^^* Quote
TK. Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 There is no way to save pins here - increasing the number of multiplexed LED rings would make them much darker. Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
/tilted/ Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Just wondering: What are the LEDrings for?I'm curious because generally LEDrings are used with rotary encoders, and you max out these at 64. So 96 LED rings may be (gulp- dare I say it) impossible.Unless you run two cores. In which case, you can't save on DOUT modules... Quote
Monobass Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Can I connect 24LED rings(consists of 8 leds) with one DoutX4 module??If possible? thats good to me ..... I will connect 96 LED rigns with only 4 DoutX4 module... ^^Hey pilgrims1 I want to do the same.. are you going for 8 LEDs per encoder? The only problem I can see with going for an even number of leds in a ring is not having a 'central' led... i.e. if you are doing a panning style control. Quote
Monobass Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Am I right in thinking that with 2 DOUT modules...(connected as shown in this image - http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_midibox64e.gif)you could double the amount of LED's available for LED rings? Are there any major implications of doing this? Would it require complex modification of the standard Midibox64e code?thankss Quote
