Can I connect 24 LED rings ........??

i believe you can only have 64 leds with 1 DINx4... so that is only 8 Led rings per DINx4

so with 4 DINx4 you could have 32 led rings.

DIN = Digital INput = buttons,switches,encoders

DOUT = Digital OUTput = LEDs, relays, other stuff like that

one DOUT has 8 outputs (D0-D7)

conclusion:

a DOUTX4-PCB has 4*8=32 outputs.

BUT: you can array the LEDs in a matrix (like done in the MBSID-modmatrix,) and programm a bit to save DOUT-modules.

hope that helps

Thank you everyone who interest in my question.....

Ofcause I know... 16 Led-Rings with 11 led... pdf....

But  My interesting is saving DOUT Modules...... ^^*

Is it possible with some modification code???

Pardon me..  my toddling is very slow... ^^*

There is no way to save pins here - increasing the number of multiplexed LED rings would make them much darker.

Just wondering: What are the LEDrings for?

I'm curious because generally LEDrings are used with rotary encoders, and you max out these at 64. So 96 LED rings may be (gulp- dare I say it) impossible.

Unless you run two cores.

In which case, you can't save on DOUT modules...

Can I connect 24LED rings(consists of 8 leds) with one DoutX4 module??

If possible? thats good to me  .....  I will connect 96 LED rigns with only 4 DoutX4 module...  ^^

Hey pilgrims1 I want to do the same.. are you going for 8 LEDs per encoder? The only problem I can see with going for an even number of leds in a ring is not having a 'central' led... i.e. if you are doing a panning style control.
