joshevensen
I'm pretty new to DIY electronics and whatnot. Basically, I just want to build a small one octave 12 button midi "keyboard" that I can mount into a wooden frame. It just needs an octave of midi keys and a midi out.Would the MB platform be useful for this? If so, can someone point me in the right direction as to how I would accomplish this? doc
Would the MB platform be useful for this?Yes.Just have a look at the MIDIO128.You'll need a Core and and a DIN Module for your projekt.greetsDoc
bosone
just pay attention to the fact that whatever "standard" midibox project you will made, it will not support something like a musical keyboard with midi-velocity notes... joshevensen
Hm, alright. I'm using this primarily to trigger a sampler so while velocity sensitivity WOULD be nice, it isn't a neccessity. It looks like I could use an extreeeemely simplified version of the midio128 design. I guess I've just gotta get figurin and see whats what. How tough would it be to add velocity sensitivity? I am looking to use pushbuttons of some sort a la most samplers, not actual keyboard style keys.
stryd_one
You know, for the price of the parts for a project like this you could probably just buy a cheap velocity sensitive midi controller from eBay....
