Echopraxia
I am looking at an old moog ribbon controller and was curious if these can be used in a midi setup or possibly through the AIN connections on the core. It works on Micromoog, Multimoog, Polymoog and Liberation models terminates with a 3 prong connector.
doc
Hi,I don't know the moog ribbon controller, but with three cables .....Maybe it works like a pot?Can you measure the resistance between the outer cables. Then try to measure, if the resistance change between the first and the second pin when slide on the controller. If it works not that way (with a simple resistance change) it would be not that easy to use (maybe incuctive?).greetsDoc

audiocommander
dunno if I can help:there are two common types of these sensors I know of:- capacity based (requiring no pressure like the iPod clickWheel)- resistance based (two layers touch at a certain point)pressure based is quite unlikely.the fact that this thing has three connectors might point towards the resistance type.if it's a real Moog Ribbon Controller, it should be resistance based as well, because in german the moog rc is called "Widerstandsband" (Resistance Band). If it has a good size with a good prize ;D, I'd take the risk.Best,Michael
