Rio Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Are we able to clone or does it makes sence, if different setups (6581 / 8580 + AOUT_LC) are used?Does someone have an idea, why my 'both' 6581R4 are soundless while activating filter?Best Regards, Rio.
Wilba Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Does someone have an idea, why my 'both' 6581R4 are soundless while activating filter?I have many 6581 that go silent when you turn on the filter, I assume that means a broken chip.
Rio Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 they are completly unused... and both have the same behaviour - only in HP area, i can listen to a bit sound.
TK. Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Are we able to clone or does it makes sence, if different setups (6581 / 8580 + AOUT_LC) are used?Just 12 hours before Wilba wrote something about this topic: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=9975.msg74560#msg74560It isn't a SW related issue if the filter don't work. I would propose to check the filter cap connections, the filter cap values, and if this doesn't give you a hint, check the SIDs on an original C64 just to ensure that it isn't related to your MBHP_SID moduleBest Regards, Thorsten.
TK. Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 (topic splitted, as this is not MBSID V2 specific)
Mr. zip Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Chances are is that the filter section of your chip is toast. I've got a 6581 with this problem. I drop a good one in the same SID module and the filter works fine. You either stuck with getting a new chip or using an external filter.
Rio Posted October 17, 2007 Author Report Posted October 17, 2007 they are never used before... and same type R4. I get only in trouble with R4. I'ven't checked on a real C64...
stryd_one Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Just unlucky dude... often they are dead when they are 'new'. In the biz we call it a DOA.
