TheAncientOne
Bankstep by Algorithmic Arts is a sort of configurable 'knobs style' sequencer. Can be useful building midi sequences and doing weird random stuff. Has a learning curve about as steep as AutoCAD. Works on just about and M$ operating system bar Vista. Can produce panels more dense than rebirth. Allegedly can do polyrhythms. Works with some soft synths. Free download. http://algoart.com/bankstep.htmHope it's of use to someone.

ultra
it's actually not that hard to start using, it just can go a long way. it's pretty interesting how you can use various devices to change/trigger other devices. i didn't realize it was still around, and is now free. thanks. stryd_one
... and if you want to shell out, you should see MusicWonk by the same company. I'm a big fan of their stuff and have drawn inspiration for my software from them on more than one occasion ;)
