gillesdeshays
I have the same problem with a "like JDM'" commercial programmer ......I always succed burning 877 .... but never 452 !Running on W98SE, with 8.2 zener , i also try to get out the 2 leds to save some current .....because i miss some voltage As i cannot find any 8.7v zener ... i dunno what to do ......My step C midibox SID is ready to receive my pic .... What is your COM port config ?I think that' s because of a lack of voltage on my com port .....Can you precise me what voltage you have on the JDM plugged into the com port ?thanks a lot !! i can wait tweaking knobs on my step C SID !!!!!PLEASE HELP !!!! ??? gillesdeshays
I've tryed at my office ..... same problems .....I gonna build a real "breadboard" JDM ... and see @ home and @ office ....... on monday ... but i cannot find a 8.7 V Zener ... But I also read TK on ucapps.de JDM page saying (Note: if you cannot find a 8,7V zener, just take the 8,2V, it will work in most cases).???But as i don't like to loose against Silicium ... ;) ...Can some one can precise me what voltage between the chatode of the Zener 8.7 and the ground :Pin 5 on the COM subd 9, with JDM connected with PIC onboard and no Programmer software .......?Thanks a lot !Gilles

gillesdeshays
I still have the problem......I resume :- Commercial Programmer "as JDM" (same circuit but a 8.2V instead of 8.7v zener)- W98SE- IC Prog 1.0.5.0- Default COM PORT configurationI did burn some 877 ...... but never a 18F452 ! :"Programming failed at Code address 0000h"I double checked EVERYTHING in the softs (W98 and IC prog config) and try many different configs.... I miss some volts on the JDM !I try to unsolder the 2 leds... which make me save some volts .....But still not enough ....(i don''t have the values recommanded by Thorsten on his "ucapps IcProg tutorial")I also change the 8.2V zener to a 8.7V ..... same problem !l I really think that's because of the COM PORT which can't deliver enough volts !!!!!What do you think about that ? TK.
Did you read the new troubleshooting section in the MBHP_JDM page? The new mods are valid for every burner which are connected to the COM port...Best Regards, Thorsten.
