  1. Thanx Thorsten for quick reply! I already read news section, but my knowledge of electronics is so poor I need explanation for everything :-[ Sorry for bothering you all with these questions, but I have no other place to ask :-/ Thanx again everybody.

  3. So, this midibox: http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=gallery;action=display;num=1039991360 have MB16E core modul just because of rotary encoders? This guy on Traktor forum posted schematics how to connect encoder to DIN: http://www.nativeinstruments.de/traktor_forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=3209 Right now, I don't understand anything... encoders work only with MB16E? If I make standard modules (DIN,AIN,LTC..) and change only the PIC to the new 'NG', will I get support for encoders? Thanks for answers everyone and pardon my total newbie questions... :-[

  5. :) Hello and thanks everyone for answers! Just some other things to know: Do I need anything besides encoder with MIDIbox 64 v1.0? Any other circuit? Do I need a power supply for encoder? Can I use 5V from DIN, for example? I would like to use them, but I am not sure how do I connect them... I saw on Thorsten's site that one encoder is using 4 contacts for 2 DIN buttons, but is that all I should know? Pardon my questions but I am total newbie to all this :-/

  7. Hi everyone, I need help with german name for a rotary-encoder. I have a posibility to order parts from Conrad electronics, but I have no idea what to search for... query 'rotary encoder' doesn't give me results. Are there more types of rotary-encoders? Does someone tested any from Conrad? Which one works fine with MIDIBOX? Thanks for any help!

  9. Hi, I am in process of creation a midibox 64. Can someone in short explain me about the new features this NG concept will bring? The purpose of midibox I am making is mainly to become a DJ panel (Traktor), but will use it also with Reason, etc. Pardon my question, but I don't understand everything about this new things...

  11. this confused me also. eagle application has a strange logic. go to cam processor, select layout script job, export as .eps or .ps -> you get better format to work with.

  13. Hi guys, on this arcadegames site I found 1 (yes, only 1 working link) for creating a "spinner" - as they call the jogwheel. It's a mouse hack, so it can't be to tough to make one. I hope I will learn something about the electronics 'till then :) here it is: http://www.arcadecontrols.speedhost.com/files/Miscellaneous/Twisty-Grip_Spinner.pdf also, very strange (from HDD !!?!?) solution: http://www.doughansen.net/arcade/spinner.htm
  14. I have at least 2-3 mices at home, all of them have optical sensors (I can see sensors near the wheel and XY) - so I assume all mices today have this kind of electronics. But how can I modify and use already made PCB from the mouse? Do I need extra power supply for this thing? Can I use one combined DIN module for, for example, 24 buttons and 4 encoders (uses 8 buttons, right)? For the record - mices are Logitech and A4Tech. Thanks for any input
  15. Uf... I am *total* newbie to all this, so this won't help much... :( If there is anyone who has done something about this (any schematics, etc for MOUSE hardware) please let me know ... or post a URL. Do you have any idea how many pulses we get from wheel or XY from mouse? :) Nice that you've remembered me and my lamer posts :) We are currently in status quo state, because the guy I found to make us PCBs screwed up my old CD player (I tried to check the voltage output, and the fuse protector died :( ), so I am looking to find someone serious. In the meantime, I was checking Traktor forum about settings, etc. New version 2.0 supports midibox 100% (a guy in the forum made a midibox just for traktor). He also made rotary encoders, but I don't know what to search for in electronic shops - no one here knows what 'rotary encoder' is :( Is there any other name for this thing? Anyway, I am preparing faders/pots and buttons and laying out of the front panel. Version 2.0 brings more control to the sound and software, so I have to think thoroughly about the interface.
  16. Hi, I don't know if this issue has been discussed yet: I can see people want to add rotary-encoders as input interfaces for midiboxes. My question is this: Is it possible to use mouse-wheel from old mouse as a rotary encoder? Please ignore this question if it is stupid, I have no experience about electronics...

    MIDIbox64 V1.00

in readme file it says: How to patch: open the main.hex file and search for :1043F00 (this is one of the last lines) Replace this line by *one* of the following lines: If I want only ONE core module, that will be device 0? So I should modify this line to: Device Number 0, MIDIbox-to-COM enabled :1043F00000000000000000000000000000001000AD ?

    Eagle?

Hi Thorsten, thanks for the reply. Somehow I managed to find out myself that this CAM processor is for exporting images, and I have exported eps files for DIN,AIN and CORE modules with no problems (I hope so, other guy will make PCB's). But the other thing is LTC module. It seems to me that it has errors. Pardon me if I'm wrong, I am total newbie to electronics really, but this doesn't look ok to me: there is too much copper on the board. Maybe everything is OK... ??? How do I upload images to forum?

    MIDIbox64 V1.00

Support for 64 pots, 64 buttons, 64 LEDs Device ID and MIDIbox-to-COM option can be patched directly in the .hex file (see README.txt) these 4 buttons are automatically disabled if no LCD is connected YES!!!! Thanks very much Thorsten and Serge!!! Now I can finally make my first MIDIbox with all the mods needed! Thanks guys! ;D

    Eagle?

Hello everybody, The man who is going to make PCB's forme (a proffessional) needs .eps or .pdf file for the film. Can someone help me in order to get proper image from Eagle? I've loaded .brd files, but I cannot export them in regular proportions :( Is it possible to get images of PCB's in some other format? Eagle is SOO non-intuitive, I don't know how to get things done here... Please help!
  23. Hi, I don't know if this is going to help you (I am total newbie for electronics): -Open the .brd in Eagle -On left menu you have icon to switch on/off visibility of 'layers' of the board -Leave ones you need -Export it as image Again, I am total newbie to all this, but maybe this will help.
  24. Thanks! That's what we need, definately!
