  1. That particular answer does not help, Stryde..... The confusion on my part involves.... the core cpu... which?... how many DinX4's? how many encoders....and do I need IIC modules? if I need to control analog synths, how many midibox cv's? simple questions with maybe not so simple answers... just thought I would ask. gb
  2. I believe I am ready to take the plunge and build an MB-SEQ It's not clear about the modules required.... I want to build one based upon TK's, however, I want to control ALL of my synths. I have the following modules that I might want to control with a MB-Seq: Korg MS-2000R Paia 9700S (midiboxified with MidiBox CV) Paia SSM / CEM Minimoog clone (midiboxified with MidiBox CV) Moog Modular V (midiboxified) Minimoog V (midiboxified) Kurzweil K2000S Smash... is it gonna be 200 Bux or 1000 Bux for all the MidiBox controlling bits? (Core, DinX4s, Douts, Encoders, LED's, etc... ) TIA gb
  3. Uhhh , find a better way to distribute your music, bud.
  4. Dag nabbit , bud It's spring break, all my kids are home... no way we can make it to Austin. however, have a GREAT performance!!! gb
  5. p.s. @ Yata, when in march? Seems to be spring break for our student this week. But I might be willing to come take a listen at a MidiBoxBud. gb
  6. since i live in houston, have a litter of kids, I miss going to GruenHall and San Marcos Lyle Lovett, Jimmie Dale, these people I grew up with in College Station. Of course, they don't know me. but it's still nice to have seen it. gb
  7. I am really getting into the forum swap to *nix based programming. I have recently relinquished the place for PC's in my main/music workroom, simply because Mac and Linux work better (still have PC's in the downstairs workroom). I make most of my money supporting windowz based software, so this is a breath of fresh air for me. Thank you MidiBoxBudz :) gb
  8. I've been building these things (various midiboxes) for a couple of years now but have never needed to 'label' my buttons/switches so that I can read the controller change on the LCD. In the *.ini file I upload to the midibox, I can see where to change the pot labels and have done so (when I touch a pot, the LCD displays the knob name on my virtual synth), but I am not finding where I can change the button/switch names so that they will display on the LCD when I flip the switch. Am I simply blind/clueless? Or is it rocket science? TIA, gb
  9. So, Yata, are you matriculating at Sam Houston? My daughter is in her first year there, and I would much rather have her associate with the likes of you than the group she's running with.... :-) an another note.... we went to see Zappa Plays Zappa in November.... Great to see Dweezle continuing with Franks legacy !!! gb
  10. That hole has now been filled with the MidiBox MoogModularV control surface. :-) gb ps.... no pix of that, yet.
  11. Howdy fellow MidiBoxers! I finally got some pix of the working end of my Minimoog V / MB64. enjoy gb
  12. somebody needs to throw this guy a bone..... I agree Wilba / Moxi...... If you look back at your / my posts from a few years ago... I was a newb... was lost, but somehow through the help of the community I GOT IT ! And believe me, I'm not an expert on MIOS or C or anything else it takes to customize a MidiBox. Does not seem Droolmaster(Gene) is willing or able, and I guess we can't really fault him for that (given he understands the MidiBox paradigm ) ((and I'm not quite sure he does)) again, just my .0125 Euros..... gb ps... what is that Ben Folds Five song.... ' the battle of who could care less' ? Oh that's right... I can play that on my MIDIBOX!!! Thank you TK! You ROCK!
  13. sheesh... i thought it would be easy.... simply explain the concept of midibox.org I give up.... He has a good grasp of the vernacular (engrish).... so I guess he's in the U.S. However, he is not listening to what we have to say to fix his problem.... sorry to talk about you in the 3rd person.. but....Send it back... or learn. otherwise... TK.. or Smash or TwinX... kill this guy... block his posts.... Sorry, I won't post on this issue again..... (maybe)......(kinda.. sorta)
  14. I preface this with a bit of humility...as I tried all of the following... but found out that the community will help. 1.give up....that's the easy thing.... happens to the best of us fail..... 2.don't evolve.. gives the rest of us a bit of command over the next generation..... 3. I have other things to make better midiboxes over.....much more interested in robotics or quantum physics... 4. Buy a commercial product that does the same thing.( uhhh veilen befruggten gluck) (sorry my 45 year old german is probably incorrect) 5.For lack of a better thing... Learn or LEARN! Sorry for the rest of our mb budds gb
  15. kismet, kharma... yes. These were all unexpected when I first arrived at ucapps.de.... it's much more than a good thing. I have grown, as can we all. take a taste, enjoy! gb ps... moxi... the Fourth Dimension is not lost on me :)
  16. This might seem pedantic; I have about 200 posts. I have built 7 Midibox projects for my own amusement. Here follows: 2 X MidiBoxCV, controls some REALLY old stuff from PAiA , Ray Wilson... etc... MidiBox 64 (Moog Modular V controller from arturia) MidiBox 64 (MiniMoog V from Arturia) If anybody wants to treat this forum with disrespect, please, build a project! I am presently working with this dang Wii thing... it interfaces perfectly ( for those who don't know it yet) to midibox! oh... that's another thread. Happy MidiBoxing Bretheren!
  17. My internet connection dropped out so we missed a bit of my last reply.... sorry if it's duplicated to some. Gene, I have quite a few musician buddies that absolutely refuse to get involved in the electronic part of their art, I would think you might have the same kind of bud's on the other end of the spectrum, who would love to look at this gizmo and get involved with the community here at ucapps. I've built a MidiBox or two for my buds. No money changes hands. Everybody is happy. Could be that you might need to look into this avenue for the fix. But, keep in mind, MidiBox is not for profit. Good luck and (as TK would say, Greets) gb
  18. Moxi, please, I think we might be able to convert him. He may not have the technical expertise, but if he has friends that do..... and to Gene: Sometimes it takes help from friends. ((OK, I'm not turning into Mohundus K. Ghandi)) gb
  19. dag nabbit.... I forgot to mention, MidiBox SEQ ROX!!! gb
  20. alright... i guess i need to weigh in on this subject. Not going to quote anybody. It seems droolmaster(Gene, oh by the way, that's also my name) is a musician, and wants to buy tools for his trade. None of us can fault him for that. agreed? However, Gene, this is a community for musicians AND (what's the term... geeks, nerds, (those of us in our bedrooms and garages building stuff that does not quite exist YET).))... dang did i close too many ellipses? I have a good feeling that since whoever sold you this thing, let you keep it. GLORY in that!! You have the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the FREE time you may or may not have in your life, to learn something new. My life has been enhanced by TK and all of the cohorts on this list. These are GOOD people, from all points on the map, we don't all speak the same language, but we all attempt to help each other. my 2 cents... or .0125 euros.. or whatever..... :-) Good luck with your new aquisition. gb
  21. yeah.... i could but i pretty much think all mac irc clients suck and I'm not quite ready to bring the old PC's back upstairs.... just to chat.... let's get this chat thing fixed Oh, was my Deutsch befruggte? it's been 40 years since high school.... sorry if I have offended any one The chat worked great before TK got kicked from whatever server he uses. That's all I want back. Really, Really, if I have offended you...... It was not intended. gb
  22. entshuldegen sie mich bitte? I don't think we want to get into Ohms laws here... Yes it is an Ohm thing... i guess some of us have more resistance in our bodies than others... is it not E = I/R? but no matter, if you get 60 milliamps across your heart... you are going in 'fribrilation'... the heart freaks... and I believe that's why we have 'defibriltors'.. that's when we start to talk 'Joules' sorry, simply my EMT / medical training from a few jahre hin. I simply want to get on chat and thank Smash for the neat little bumper sticker he sent me with my last order. c ya gb
  23. how did this transmorgrify from... how much amperage will kill you ( i believe it's about 60 milliamps across the heart) to .... how we talk on CHAT!?
