  1. So... I havent checked this site in a few months... there any news on the kits from smashtv? THanks guys!!!
  2. yeah no biggie... I just started rounding up parts last nite. Ordered my tactile switches, and led fan with cover. Next is LED's, Case, rotaries. (and I have 2 of wilbas 6582 sids and a 6581) What are people doing about the front panel? I'd like to have FPE just make mine on some anodized aluminum. I also thought about getting the FPE to them but not putting any text or anything (just having them drill holes) and I was going to acid etch it all. Might look cool and save me some $$$$
  3. I'll take a kit for control and base with pics AND PCBS.... Need to get this sucker going. :)
  4. No sweat wilba! I'm still hunting down parts and such.... plus I'm waiting for the pcb pair to get rolling as well. :)
  5. I just emailed wilba for 1 set of pcb's. I CAN'T WAIT TO START ORDERING PARTS AND AN LCD!!!
  6. I'm extremely interested in doing this.... However, I have 1 6581 chip and I just ordered 2 of the 6582's from the wilba. So for now... I'm going to just roll with 3 chips. 6581 for dirty mono stuff and then 6582 for the stereo stuff. Is it worth it to buy the 2 pcbs for the mb-6582 and just run the midisid with 3 untill eventually i buy more from wilba and filler up? Or... just do all the individual sid kits, core kits... yada yada yada.....? Thanks guys! I cant wait to start!!!
  7. Wilba my brother, I'm sure you have the sids going out in the mail soon right? I can't wait! Only thing I'm hoping is... since I'm not using them right away, and they will sit on the shelf for a few months most likely.. is there any other way to test them when I get them versus pluging them into the board? Thanks so much! :)
  8. Wilba, I just sent an email for an order of 2 of them. Thanks in advance bro! :)
  9. Shit... hope you still have 2 of them next friday so I can snagem!!!! =o
  10. I'm about to order parts for my v2 sid to be and I"m wondering... Do you guys reccomend only using the 8580's now adays with v2 or would it still be okay to use 2 8580's for a stereo pair and then a pair of 6581's. I only have 1 8581 sid right now and I have to get all the solder off the legs. so i'm in the hunt for chips. Thanks! :)
  11. So... I've only got 1 6581 sid chip so far. I'd like to do the stereo setup using 2 of the sid's but... i should prolly have 8580's in there instead so... I need to track down 1 more 6581 and 2 8580's... it's getting hard these days. I can't see spending 40 bucks on a commodore just to ge 1 chip that might be the wrong one I'm looking for anyway, lol. Now... is it safe to start working on the V2 one? I'd rather be able to have 4 seperate mono signals or 2 stereo's using a pair of each of the different chips. I just saw it is in beta so... Just making sure the partslist are all finalized so I can start on this baby! Thanks so much guys! :D
  12. I should be okay... I"m going to use a dremel with a cutoff and get each pin seperated from the pcb, then I can with pliers and a soldering iron just heat up the little piece of pcb on each pin and pull one off at a time. I need to find a 8580... guess I need to track down a C64 C? Now... I need a Core module kit, Sid Kit, DIN kit and a 20x2 LCD. Ribbon cable and.... anything else from coinop for a first order? hmmm... 2 female midi jacks I guess for the back panel. Here is the Design for Mr.SID so far. :)
  13. So.. when I'm ordering the Core kit online... which pic should I have it sent with? There is 3 or 4 to choose from. Little confused on that... I'll probably order my DIN/SID/CORE kits in a week or so. WOO HOO, cant wait to start building! Gotta dig out my 6581 though.. it's soldered directly to the board so I need to bust out the dremel and be VERRRY carefull!!!!! Is there a way to test the sid chip itself to make sure it's a good one before I hook up the sid as a synth? OH!!!! So...my Commodore didnt come with a powersupply... that kind of sucks. Is there another option I can go without having to track down a commodore power supply? THANKS EVERYONE SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
