Did I miss something?
I thought we'd have to wait until the part kits are visible in the SmashTV shop. ???
-
No, I didn't got any files. I thought nebula would show some pics here. ???
-
Should be 17 Euro as Finland is a member of the EU
and I think the package will be below 5 kg (I hope so as
I don't have a scale).
-
Thanks.
If you'll include the AOUT option I'm definately interested if the resulting design is not too bad. ;)
-
I have an Evolution EVS-1 for sale which may be interesting for the ones who
cannot build a MIDIbox FM.
A Windows editor is available at:
http://www.deepsonic.ch/deep/freeload/evs-1_edit_0.2b.zip
As an alternative there is an editor for Atari.
The location is Cologne in Germany.
I have a user manual in english (printed) and german (original) and
the original PSU for use in Germany (I have no idea with which countries
it is compatible :-[)
This synth is extremely underrated and definately better than the Yamaha TX81Z.
Asking 60 Euro + shipping.
-
Ok, so it seems there are currently 2 projects with some results and with different aims.
I'll definately want the AOUT options for my analog synths, but 2 projects seems already
enough and it would take at least a year for me to have something to show.
@nebula:
Do you already have a frontpanel layout or something to get an idea?
-
I was thinking more of basic version (without the matrix or optional matrix) like
the original TK design.
I'm not sure if I like that splitted design. ???
-
Man, this thread is really old and I had no time since then to work on this project. :-[
Has anyone started a similar project in the meantime?
So you're talking about a modular front panel, not a single PCB for it? Sorry, I thought you were talking about a single front panel PCB.
As I read through the thread I was a bit scared how offensive my posts back here were.
And how not related and kind of mad. ;)
I think I was not really sure if I should go the modular or the single PCB way.
What parts could you make reusable? Looking at the layout I just don't see what parts really carry over to other MIDIbox projects...Yes, that makes sense. In the meantime I've got a bit more experience and would also go for one PCB for the frontpanel
and eventually even try to fit the whole SEQ on it (don't know, if that would work without SMD 'though) to reduce
the flat cable mess or layout a backend PCB with all the needed stuff on it.

Got mine today, too.
Wilba rulez! :)
-
They offered me a 25% refund on the cost of the panels so that comes out to about $3.80 ea.
25% of 40 US $ is 3.8 US $? ??? (This is less than 10%)
I'm afraid that shipping the bad panel back and having a new panel send again will cost much (I already paid 11 US $ for shipping & PayPal fees).
Would have been cheaper if Altitude would have checked a panel before sending them out.
Sorry, but I'm a little pissed off and I would not say that 40 US $ is to cheap to get nice panels of such a small size when I think of the nice and perfectly silkscreened panels which Purusha sells (including 19" cases) in even smaller quantities.
Have a look at the Purusha cases here:

I would never get panels like this for 10$ each in germany.
???
I paid 40 US $ (w/o shipping costs).
-
Got mine today, too. :)
-
Guter Tip, muss ich merken mit den Computerteilen. :)
-
Fuck, I've missed this groupbuy! >:(
Like I missed any other MB-6582 groupbuy
except for the PCB itself and the panels. :'(
-
I didn't got any feedback from WK-Mechanik so far. :(
Hope I didn't get lost in a SPAM-filter.
-
Joachim you can find them in this thread. The second one is the updated version of the frontpanel.
Thanks, I requested an offer for the panels for a minimum of 25 pieces.

D3 am negativen regler sollte laut beschreibung D5 sein.
Jetzt raff ich das:
Im Schaltplan ist D8 (nicht D5) als D3 eingezeichnet.
Wegen CalrEQ:
Im Original sind NE5532, TL072 und LF353 drin. Bei der Gyraf-Version werden LM833 vorgeschlagen,
alternativ NE5532.

Hmm, also nen einfachen Verzerrer gibt's hier:
http://diy.musikding.de/content/view/28/8/
Allerdings wird die Schaltung nicht wirklich erläutert.
Ich muss überhaupt erstmal ne Linkliste erstellen.
Gibt noch viele ToDos wie man sieht.

sonicwarrior: Can you arrange a quote from WK-Mechanik? Make sure they can do white silkscreen on 1.5mm thick black anodized aluminium. I would do it myself but it's all German ???
Yes, but I need the .fpd file for that.
I asked a quote from Purusha from the groupdiy forums. I have some great screened panels from him.He needs a Corel Draw file as input. Errors may evolve if he draws everything new. :-\

Hallo,
-
It will probably end up being me, as I've dealt with Front Panel Express before and could probably haggle with them a little, extra 10% off or something, and can combine shipping of PCBs and panels... ;)
When the panel order exceeds 20 it would make sense to order the panels with silkscreen.
E.g. WK-Mechanik in Germany takes .fpd files and makes silkcreened panels from them.
-
I'm also in for a groupbuy of both PCBs (if there is also one for the front PCB).
Also on the frontpanel if there will be one.
I have only 2 SIDs (8580) but maybe I can get more until I stuff the PCB. :)
MIDIbox CV PCB (CORE+AOUT+DINX1+Bankstick) + 2 x MAX525
in Bulk Orders
Posted
suital from the sequencer.de forum was so kind to create a single PCB for the MIDIbox CV project.
The thread (in german) for this was:
http://www.sequencer.de/synthesizer/viewtopic.php?t=18474
More information in english can be found here:
http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,11656.0.html
Please ask questions about the PCB there.
I'm taking over the bulk order of the PCB in bundle with the necessary MAX525BCPP+.
One set includes 1 PCB and 2 MAX525BCPP+.
As I have no PIC burner the necessary PIC is not included.
Instead of the difficult-to-get MAX6007B you can use a LM385-2,5. You'll only need to re-calculate some resistor values.
Costs per set: 35,20 Euro (old info)
(Without shipping/package costs)
The whole thing works only if I can sell exactly 50 sets! (Because of packaging units)
If someone wants to take part in this buld order please let me know here how many sets you will take.
Deadline is the 30.06.2008 at 20 o'clock (CEST).
List (29.6.2008):
sonicwarrior: 3 sets
amp1ron: 3 sets
Doug Wellington: 4 sets
Jaicen: 1 set
Madox: 2 sets
StormB: 1 set
snykehd: 2 sets
xarolium: 3 sets
Left: 0 sets
Edit: I'm located in Germany!
Edit2: Here is the requested pic of the PCB (3D model):
Edit3: Page (currently only in germany):
