  1. Hi all! I have a problem, sort off! Midi out must be conected to get sound from the sid. And if i plug it out I have to restart my midibox sid? If I unplugg the audio cable same result. No audio no response to MIDI. I have to cores and powering the sid 5v from the second one. Think it might be a ground issue but I am not sure. The two cores are not connected in any way. Please help a guy out!
  2. It was a bad solder on R2. Thanks TK... Now i just played D2 over midi, sweept the filter and..... R2D2. ;D
  3. My core has started to format banks but there are none atached? Whats wrong?? I have checked for shorts all day.... ??? THIS IS DRIVING ME MAD? Please help a newbie out! .///Mattias
  4. :-X Stupid of me!! It is the multimode. One thing that would be nice is patch combability whith SIDstation in V 2.0 but thats not a must have.
  5. Ok !! In V2.0 will it be possible to have the SID:s from one core on separate midi channels and differnt parameters? My korg MS2000r has a mod sequenser. Check here ... http://www.korguksupport.co.uk/upload/MS2000_R_OM2.pdf Maybe a nice feature for the sid.. Or something like it?
  6. Ok.. Thats still super! Any way how do we conect the second sid to the core. Just intressted since I am planning now for an uppgrade to V2. My plan is two fitt 2 6581:s and two 8580:s to two cores. Anything to take in to consideration, special parts neded etc.... Got some soldering done today by the way and picked upp my second 8580!!!! ;D
  7. Sorry!! Somtimes I am just to quick!! :-\
  8. I would by my PICs today IF I could get the new one rev.B4, without the bug. Check LATEST NEWS!!! And I dont think I am selling my FS1R. Just started to get into the formatsequensing thing thsanks to some soft I found on the web. But if you want one there seems to be one up for grabs here. ::) http://www.bangiel.substracta.com/music.html ///Mattias
  9. This V2 SID looks like its gonna be great! I think the SID synt is going to be the fatest synth in my rack. Goot a MS2000r and an FS1R to match it to. From the look of it I think the SID V2 will kick som ass.. This news inspired me to start working on my synth and plan for V2. Thanks TK... Now I just gotta get my kit going. And i have some questions, since V2 is comming soon... Now might be a good time to start planning for an update. I am building my SID synth as a 1u rack unit step B controller, I hope i still get all the new features or do I need a full controller? The PIC seems to be avilable as free sample?? But wich of them should I get?? http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1953&device=en010304 Maybe smashTV could start selling the PIC 18F460 so we newbeis could get it whit mios? And for Bankstiks is there a change recomended or can we still stick to the old ones? When will we se a beta or are you going for a final release? Thanks a million TK..
  10. Can you ship to Sweden? I am up for some, maybe ///Mattias :)
  11. Slorrin...! Hook me up for one, if you got any left? If you can ship to Sweden!! ///Mattias :)
  12. Here is a link for you guys. Commdore stuff shipped all over the world... http://www.oldsoftware.com/Commodore.html
  13. :o :o :o :o You will never quess what it was. Its solved now. My phono jach was not working. Replaced it and sweet sound at last.
  14. Is it best to clock the sid from core then? Or what???
  15. Yeah. its wierd. but the part is printed CBC not BC..... And I cant find anything about CBC... like there is no thing like it??? The startupsound is like a low rapid pip pip pip pip, then there is no response on midi??? Getting new parts and som new SID:s. I dont have a working C64 now only sidchips..... :( But clocking from the CORE solved a simular problem for someone here at the forum..? I will try tomorow. I could also try ordering new CB:s and fit them. Now i must hunt down some SID chips... Later!
  16. Maybe I should try to clock the sid from the core? Remove to clock from the sid board. Would it help? I am givving it a rest today..... Havent got any other ideas! ???
  17. The transistor is not the BC547, its a CBC547 can i get som help on the pinout since I think its the problem now??? I am getting nowere on myown..... ???
  18. :D Got the startup tune now! But its way to low. Preamp to max on my mixer and channelstrip to max? Still something wrong??? What canit be??????
  19. I see aloot you have had problems with no sound here. Did you get it right in the end ???? My worst fear is that I killed my SID. Or that it was dead from the start. Is no sound an indicator that the chip is dead? Ill just keep trying to get it going. What else could be wrong? Some static noise should come out if its dead right?
  20. OK GREAT!! By the way how easy is it to fry the SID?? Hope it still works. Looks like its the CORE not working, I am going toorder a new set. The solders looks like dog poo! I have another up and running since its going to be 3 SID:s inmy synth.
  21. What start up sound? Have not heard it. And now there is no MIDI comunication? The voltages was bad for a short time (like 3) where it should have been 5 and 12. Maybe its the CORE. I am almost mad now. Must sort the MIDI before anything else. Havent uploaded any patches whats the use (no sound)? The SID should make sounds when playing via MIDI keybord right?
  22. Hi My SID is not making any sounds at all. First it made som but so low volume you could barley hear it. Whats going on here? What voltage is recomended for J3 audio out? All others seem ok !! There is not even background noise comming out! Could it be a broken SID? I have tried all night to get it right. But it just does not make sounds.
  23. Hi.. You will need to build in a midimerger http://www.ucapps.de/midimerger.html into the controller. So you still can have a midi in port for the SID, for sequensers. Or just use a short MIDI cable to connect one of the controller ports to the SID. For power I cant say. Whats the power supply for the controller?
  24. :D :D :D Thanks there was a bad solder (short circuit). It was hard to spot. This was the first thing I ever soldered so the solderside looks like shit but I think I got it right now!!! Thanks ../Mattias
  25. Dont think so? How can I tellIt is the same way as in the pictures. But it gets really hot!! Mattias
