ja, würde ich auch gerne wissen. bin immernoch interessiert an einer günstigeren alternative einer frontplatte. ansonsten, falls aus der günstigen alternative doch nix mehr wird lass ich mir dann doch eine bei schaeffer schneiden, aber dann ohne gravuren etc. das macht einen riesen unterschied bei den kosten hab ich gesehen. grüße daniel

afaik you only get one midi in and one midi out per MIDIbox SID. You can get a second midi out + one midi thru if you build the LTC module. but you really need only one midi input because you can address all the SIDs on different midi channels.

building the optimized circuit to use a C64 PSU as the power supply is not really a big deal. The best thing is, that you can reuse some parts from an old C64 (power-plug power-switch, some capacitors and resisitors). If you consider changing your power supply to a C64 PSU, just don't forget to take the voltage regulator (7805) out of the CORE module and replace the outer holes with a bridge because the PSU already has a regulated 5V Output.

as moebius just said, you have to unsolder the 7805 and solder a bridge between the outer pins instead. Some of the other parts needed for power regulation are not needed anymore as well but it's ok to leave them where they are.

I'm using a 20x4 LCD in my server for displaying system-information. The order, how lines are accessed is not from down to bottom. check http://home.iae.nl/users/pouweha/lcd/lcd0.shtml#_4_line_displays to see how they are accessed.

if you want to have 6581 chips, check out ebay. You can determine which chip is inside of the c64 by looking at the keyboard. if the special characters are print on the key (besides the letters) then you can be sure that a SID 8580 sits in the c64. if they are print on front of the keys, a 6581 chip will be inside the c64. or check the function-keys. if there is only F1, F3, F5, F7 is print on top of the keys and F2, F4, F6 and F8 is print on front, then you will find a 6581 inside. if F1-F8 is print on top there will be a 8580 inside. Hope I could help you out a bit ;)

welches Design würdest du denn in Produktion geben? Das Design von TK oder ein anderes? Ich wäre auf jeden Fall, wie schon erwähnt, an der Frontplatte von TK interessiert. es darf aber auch ein anderes Design sein, solange die Abmessungen der Platte gleich bleiben (will die Platte auch auf ein altes C64 Gehäuse schnallen). Also wenn man sich ein wenig geduldet kann man auch gute Schnäppchen bei eBay machen. Man sollte halt vorher genau schauen wie der C64 aussieht um Rückschlüsse zu ziehen, welchen SID der C64 unter der Haube hat. Grüße Daniel

hallo, ich wäre ebenfalls an einer frontplatte für die MIDIbox SID interessiert. habe hier bei Bekannten bis jetzt noch keine wirklich günstigere Alternative zu Schaeffer gefunden. Da kommt Dein Angebot doch wie gerufen ;) Werde das mal hier weiter verfolgen. Im Prinzip würde ich genau so eine Frontplatte haben wollen wie Sie im Vorzeigemodell von Thorsten verbaut ist. Hi, I've just received all my parts necessary to build a midibox sid. but one question remains. although I have ordered the BC 547A Transistor which is needed for the AOUT Module, I received a BC 547C. Is there any difference between those two or can I safely put the BC 547C on the Board? Cya Daniel
