Wenn du schon nen 7812 auf der PSU-platine hast, brauchst du keinen mehr auf der 6581-platine. der 7812 braucht etwas über 14V als eingangsspannung, und macht dann 12V draus. wenn du jetzt zusätzlich nen 7812 auf der SID-platine hast, also 2 7812 nacheinander, dann funzt das natürlich nicht, weil ja die 12V eingangsspannung viel zu wenig ist für den zweiten 7812. Was hast du denn für eine eingangsspannung? Also, was ist beim trafo auf der sekundärseite? Wenn beim 7809 8V und beim 7812 10V rauskommen ist für mich die eingangsspannung zu niedrig.

ist doch ganz einfach: 8580 -> 9V -> 7809 6581 -> 12V -> 7812 Ich hab den Thread leider nicht von anfang an durchgelesen, aber ich glaub ich weiß jetzt was dein problem ist. Der SID 6581, den Du ja verwendest, braucht 12V. Ein 7809, regelt die Spannung auf 9V (deshalb die letzten zwe ziffern "09") runter. -> mal kurz scharf nachgedacht -> aha! da stimmt doch was nicht! Bingo! ein 7812 regelt die Spannung auf ( 78[12] ) 12V runter. Die passt für deinen 6581. Jetzt aber auf GAR KEINEN FALL wieder nen 8580 reintun. Der verträgt nämlich nur 9V und segnet bei 12V das Zeitliche. ;) matthias

I don't know exactly what you want to tell me ::) AFAIK, an inverter has an input (5V in your case, DC) and an output (about 120V AC). Do you have a Datasheet for the inverter you use? EDIT: I've just recognized that you're probably using a wrong inverter. The inverter you use makes +5V to -5V. That won't work. You need a special EL-inverter because the EL-foil needs an alternating current of about 120V to work. This is a bit dangerous because of the high voltage, so you have to use some insulation-tape and/or shrinking hose at the output.

welcome to the board :) I don't know if you can dim EL-inverters. I actually don't think so.. Are you sure that the EL-inverter has the right polarization?

Ich werde da gleich nochmal bei der Bank nachfragen was da passiert ist. Je nachdem ob du mir jetzt vertraust oder nicht , kannst Du die Bestellung schonmal wegschicken - notfalls auch ohne meine 20 knöpfe :-\ ich werd mich auf jeden Fall darum kümmern dass Du das Geld bekommst. Meine Adresse hast Du ja, also hast du ja immernoch die Option einen Auftragskiller auf mich anzusetzen falls das Geld nicht in (max) 3 Wochen da ist ;)

hmm... vielleicht warphead, dass man bei einer fertigen +5/9/12V PSU den Gleichrichter und den spannungsregler brücken kann. Das mach ich momentan. funzt recht gut. man darf halt nix verpolen.

hmm.. vllt. hilft eine umgebaute PC-Wasserkühlung....oder gleich flüssiger Stickstoff ;D (es hat schon Leute gegeben, die damit nen P4 mit 3GHz aufs doppelte übertaktet haben)

it's a "Skynet DMH-1202-A" "class 2 power supply". I've bought it at pollin.de. it offers +5V (1A) +12V (0,2A) -12V (0,2A) and 2 other lines. I don't know how you call them in english. there is a normal "minus" (Vs) wire and another wire that is connected directly to ground (earth, green/yellow cable). I think that the powersupply is just the reason for the 50Hz-buzz and the usual (white? pink?) noise. I'll try to solve this problem in the next step. The problem I want to solve now is this kinda disturbing second signal. It doesn't occur at the 6581. any ideas? matthias

oh, I forgot to mention the most important things... the 2 cores run the V1.74685 firmware. Master: connected to 8580, no CS Slave: connected to 6581. not connected to master at the moment (CAN) I'm using the black powersupply you can see at the picture. I've just put the Master PIC into the slave-core. the 6581 works pretty well. (except for that "normal" noise) I'll try to connect the 8581 to the slave board tomorrow to see if it's the core that doesn't work.

Hi, I've finished one SID and one Core of my dual-SID, I've loaded the SID testtone-app on my master-Core, switched it on and after 2 seconds of a (nearly) pure triangle-wave, I heard another strange sound. As it's very difficult to describe this kind of question, I've attached 2 pics and an audio-file. (I know it's pretty useless to zip a wma-file, but wma-files are not allowed). Parts of the audio-wave: 1 ? no idea. quite loud noise though it's switched off. 2 switch-on-click 3 either the releasing of the power switch or the Relais which switches the 12V-line. (black box on the picture) 4 here begins the pure triangle-wave 5 here starts the additional strange noise 6 triangle + noise 7 the noise stops. triangle 8 the noise starts again 9 switch-off-click My "Class 2 Power Supply" also offers a GND-connection. should I use this one instead of the normal Vd ? thx, matthias sidnoise01.zip Unbenannt.JPG sidnoise01.zip DSCN06380001_1.JPG

er...ok... I've seen many people doing really great things with MBHP and in my eyes it's just not fair if i'm a "tweaker" and they're just a member. I just don't have the skills to be a "tweaker". I don't know anything about C and microcontrollers. Being a tweaker is kinda honor to me and I just don't deserve it...
