  1. This has now been sold. Thanks for the interest!
  2. Added pics for all those who asked. Couple of things to note: 1) Current chips are actually 6582, but I can change to 8580 no probs. 2) LED's are soldered lower to the board than they should be. They all still light up as they should, but you need to be head on to the unit to see them. Any more questions, please feel free to ask.
  3. Genuine MIDIBOX sammichSID, bought in kit form and assembled by experienced professional electronics engineer. Excellent condition and full working order with PSU and 2x 65812 SID chips included (can swap to 8580 on request). Will post anywhere in the world at buyers cost. Paypal or BACS accepted. £250 GBP + P&P
  4. Sooooooorrrryy guys - totally forgot I put it on here too. Sammich has gone.

    [SOLD] MB6582

Now sold. Thanks to everyone who got in touch! Due to not being able to use this in the way I had anticipated (see here: ) I have decided to sell on my newly aquired MB6582. :bye: It has 8 NOS 6582A SIDs installed, all 4 cores are working perfectly and I can offer a UK C64 PSU if required. Looking for 500 euro (approx £416 GBP) or swap/part exchange for something interesting. Will ship worldwide, but part ex is really only possible for UK. Any questions or offers of part exchange, please PM me. Pics below:
  7. Just a little bump... I've managed to find a kind of work around. It seems that the java editor only edits on core 1 (?) so if I make 6 instruements on core 1 then save and access the patch from core 2, it leaves me with core 1 free to edit and doesn't mess with the sounds on core 2. Is there no way of selecting which core is affected by the editor? Editing via the front panel works fine, btw.
  8. Hi All, I've recently become the proud owner of an MB-6582 :frantics: so now have access to 4 cores rather than the 1 core of my little Sammich. I set up a multi patch (patch 1) on the first core and used up the 6 voices (on MIDI channels 1-6). Then I set up a core 2 multi patch (patch 2) where I had set the MIDI channels to 7-12 in the Ensemble. The problem I am having is that when I want to edit the voices in core 2 (patch 2) via the sysex editor, it changes the patch 1 settings too. Does anyone know how to get around this? Thanks!

    [SOLD] MB6582

Is this still available? PM sent. :)
  11. It's a fairly simple wavetable bass which begins with a high pitched noise wave and then goes into a pulse which is swept from narrow to wide to create hammering basslines which really cut through a mix nicely. I guess the best way is to give an example from the man himself (though *technically* I think Rob Hubbard used this type of bass first in the Sanxion loading music): http://www.se2a1.net/soasc/dl.php?d=soasc/soasc_mp3%2FMUSICIANS%2FG%2FGray_Matt%2FDominator_T02.sid_CSG8580R5.mp3 Ahh, here's Rob's Sanxion loader too. Just because it's so bloody AWESOME! http://www.se2a1.net/soasc/dl.php?d=soasc/soasc_mp3%2FMUSICIANS%2FH%2FHubbard_Rob%2FSanxion_T01.sid_MOS6581R4.mp3
  12. Thanks for the info. Hmm, so working for some folks and not others. Maybe the new wavetable update broke something else?
  13. Hiya - yep, I'm saving to the bankstick not the buffer. I've even gone as far as to use the front panel of the Sammich to save the patch. Hopefully someone with a Sammich will chip in. :)
  14. Heya - cheers for the feedback! Yes - naming difference I think. What would normally be a SID oscillator becomes a 1 oscillator instrument in it's own right in multi mode. Those values sound correct. Now that you have saved your patch into your MBOX, if you close Rutger's editor and turn off your MBOX, when you turn it back on (and maybe change patches and come back to the Matt Gray patch), does it then still sound the same? If it does, then maybe it's a saving bug in my Sammich's (they both do it). Can anyone confirm it's OK using a their Sammich?
  15. OK, I'm not uploading this to the correct patch thread just yet as I *think* I've found some sort of a bug in the multi mode(?). You can get all the bits and pieces here and maybe someone can confirm that it's not just me that this is happening to? OK - first take a listen to the MP3 - this is what the patch should sound like when playing the MIDI file (which is also enclosed). What I am finding is that if I load the oatches into the Sammich, they sound completely wrong (usually on osc2 the ring mod and sync are turned off and osc 3 is replaced by a noise wave)! To get it to sound like it should, you need to load the patch into MBSID Java editor and double click on the patch so that the editor screen opens. 9 times out of 10 the sounds are as they should be. If not, close the editor page and then double click again until it sounds right. If you then transmit the patch back to the Sammich and save via the front panel, it still goes screwy when you change select another patch or reset it. Any idea's what is happening here? Maybe the osc's aren't initializing properly somehow? Tonka MattGrayTest.zip
  16. Talking of :poke: ... Is this feature going to be incoporated into Rutger's Java editor soon? :D
  17. Blimey - tumbleweed time in those threads! Promise I'll get the Matt Gray bank up tonight and start on a few other famous C64 musicians as a bit of a theme. I checked back on the patch original last night with the intention of uploading it but it was screwed. I *think* it's bacause I was saving to patch 1 which is possibly like ensemble 1 where you have to kinda leave it alone (?). Dunno. Anyway, I started re-creating the sounds again and saving to patch 2/ensemble 2, and it all *seems* to be saving OK now. :)
  18. Hehe - sorry Hawkeye! I wanted to upload a bank of sounds really, rather than just one or 2 patches at a time but I'll make sure I put the Matt Gray patch up tonight! There are 3 spare osc left for channels 4, 5 & 6, so I'll try to recreate the Dominator bass drum, and a MG PWM lead (maybe the one off the Bankok Knights loader?) just for completeness!
  19. No probs - I was under the impression that most people here used the Lead engine, but I'm happy to upload my multi patches if you want them. :)
  20. Hehe - yeah, I was joking... (Unless Futureman really *was* considering a swap, in which case I was absolutely deadly serious)!!!
  21. WHOAH! Wanna swap it for a Sammich?!
  22. Hello! I'm using XP pro with a Steinberg Midex 8 interface (which is generally pretty reliable with sysex). I've tried doing it with no notes playing, but still the same problem. I'll try another interface before we get too far into it as it could well be the problem. I seem to recall a problem with loading in the patch bank via the editor though (it was missing every few patches). It worked OK with the Mios software though. Maybe the Mios software transmits more slowly somehow? Hmm - I'll check it out...
  23. Hi, Not certain if this is a bug as I guess it would have been reported a while ago, but... I use the editor to make a Multi patch. Make new sounds for the oscillators and save/transmit from the editor to the memory of my Sammich. No problems - all seems stored OK. When I turn the Sammich back on (or just change the patch) all the sounds are screwed up. So I load up the editor, transmit the patch from the Sammich to it - still messed up. If I then click on the patch to edit it, it starts to come back to life a little and some of the sounds reach their correct settings. If I come out of the edit screen and go back into it a few times, it all eventually gets restored. Anyone else experienced this?
  24. LOL! A thick sliced Sammich then...
