  1. Hi. I would like to make a point 1 week after the beginning of the bulk order: >We have 81 PCBs already ordered so we should probably reach the 100s soon and the price will be break again. >The amount of the Mouser order is 57,56€ that is to say 7,44€ below the free shipping cost. I would like to point out that (mostly) DIL resistor networks are difficult to find at good price for few quantities (at least on this side of the Atlantic). If someone plan to use this type of component, don't have them and don't already know where finding them, should ask the question to participate at this bulk order. I'll make a new point in some days when we'll reach the two thresholds. Regards, Jerome.
  2. Hi J Martins. I think you should see Regards.
  4. Hi Antonio. Yes if you take "with insurance" it's means you will be compensated of the amount of the insurance in case of lost and your shipment is tracked (until your door in this country: Germany, Belgium, Danemark, Finland, UK, Hong-Kong, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden, Swiss and until the French frontier for the others country). In any case I receive a proof of delivery. Yes, no insurance ...no tracking. Regards. Jerome.
  5. I'm agree with ilmenator. This board is tended to be use in term of modularity either in multiboards project or where this board would be as part of more complex project. Modularity means unpredictability. With the rise of personal factory as Ponoko which provide cheap and relatively easy way to create things, the concept of universality seems to disappear. This idea would have sens in my eyes only in a all-include-project with components/enclosure/application ad-hoc. Maybe one day. Regards.
  6. On the http://www.taydaelectronics.com shop (...very good shop) you can buy: 2 ULN2803 Transistors Darlington arrays 4 74HC165 4 74HC595 10 Ceramic Cap 100nF=0,1uF “104†1 Polarized Electrolytic Capacitor 100 uF 1 2x40 Pin 2.54 mm Double Row Pin Header Strip 1 40 Pin 2.54 mm Single Row Pin Header Strip 10 Socket 16 pins 2 Socket 18 pins 256 LED 3mm Red For $10.89 or 8.40€ including shipping to US or Europe. You have only to add encoders and RNs. Regards.
  7. Ok. As many people want some components and as resistor networks (SIL and DIL) are not easy to find at good price for few quantity, I add a bulk order only for SIL and DIL resistor networks to this bulk order. Others components (except encoders) are easily "sourcable" on Internet. I have modified the Wikipage with 2 new columns. Importants informations: >I will make the Mouser order the same moment I will order the PCBs. >This bulk order will take place only if the ordered amount is a least 65€ (no shipping charges at Mouser). >Only member which order a PCB can participate (...sorry!). >The weight (...and the price) of the shipping of the parcel to each member shouldn't be different (except maybe for 4 boards where the weight was very slightly less than the limit of 0.5kg). >The price of the 652-4116R-1LF-220 and the 264-10K-RC will be the one Mouser propose regarding the quantity ordered for each item. I let someone else doing a bulk order for encoders (...severals models, prices and weight to manage). Regards, Jerome.
  8. I think the most critical components which would need a bulk order are encoders and DIL resistor networks. Everyone can find easily cheap LEDs or chips on Ebay e.g. Regards.
  9. Dear members. Can you send me by mail (jeromebo at free dot fr)your: Username Paypal mail address Real name Postal address Country Level of shipping insurance you want to take. Best regards, Jerome.
  10. I was near to propose it in this bulk order but too many parameters to manage in only one session. Thank you for your marketing. Mea Culpa, I was fighting with my table on the wiki page: ...The shipping cost table is now updated. Sorry, you can retry now Prosperity. Regards.
  11. And another good one when we'll hit 100 units.
  12. Hi everybody. Note that the new price is now 11€ each PCB (+ shipping). Regards.
  13. As many peoples seem to want several boards, I will try ASAP to make another travel to my post office to be more precise with shipping cost and update the shipping cost table regarding the number of boards ordered. Regards.
  14. Thanks. My English is more like "Franglish". Regards.
  15. Tim has the source files. I think it is interesting to Tim in terms of time and energy spent only if a minimum of people show interest by this PCB. Regards Jerome.
  16. It is also what I understood also. Other people take 6% or more in their bulk order. A little count: 14€ x 3.4% = 0,476€ 0,476€ + 0.25€ = 0,726€ In percent: 0,726/14 = 5,19% Regards, Jerome. ...I understand why now (I need to stop "head calculation"). Regards, Jerome.
  17. The is now open. Regards.
  18. Hi. I inform members of the start of a bulk order concerning a all-in-one PCB integrating DINx4/Doutx4 modules and a control surface with 16 encoders/16 LEDrings. The list ends the November 23th 2012. You will find all the informations on the wikipage. The thread of the design of the board is If I made a mistake or if I forgot something, don't hesitate to say it here. Best regards, Jerome.
  19. BOM Coordinates PS: Someone know how inserting a table in a post?
  20. Some useful technical informations: LEDring: Board: Regards, Jerome.

  22. Hi. This is the new revision of the board. Improvements: >C1, C2, C3 & C4 replaced by Wima cap footprint (bigger pad so easier to solder). >2 ULN2803 driver placed in line with SR1 and SR2. >16 PEC16-4xxxF-Nxxxx (without switch) replaced by 16 PEC16-4xxxF-Sxxxx (with switch). >1 pin of each switch is grounded and the other connected to 16 ways SIL connector (Peter/Hawkeye can explain how using them ). The new Eagle files have been sent to Tim. smashtv: and Hawkeye: An idea is to start a bulk order to see exactly how people are interested (...soon). Regards. Jerome. 23. This is the schematic with the two ULN2803. The 4 extra chips can not definitly be integrated because there is no more free space. Duggle, can you check the wiring of them? People that eventually won't want to use them could bridge pins. I made tests with the board I wired and in well lighted room the LEDs seem enough lighted for use as indicator with "nude" top. But with the use of translucent grey acrylic I plan to use as frontpanel, it seems (for me) it will be probably not enough. Regards. MBHP_DINx4_DOUTx4_Rev2.2_Schematic.pdf
  24. New revision of the board: DIL connectors instead SIL ones. They are 1:1 with J8/J9 of Core8/Core32/LPC17 (ilmenator  ). Regarding the brightness/refreshing/current problem I let someone else with more background than me to resolve this question. But several thoughts: >In his schematic, Tk didn't use transistors arrays nor doubled serial shift registers. >Technicaly, it should be enough easy to implement 2 ULN2803 into the board but 2 ULN28036 + 2 RN + 2 SR will be sensibly different to route. >I don't know exactly how could be connected the 2 new SR but regarding the fact the core manage only 16 SR, we would not be able to use more than 2 serial boards (and I had planned to use 3 boards in my project). >Me and several future users eventually plan to use translucent acrylic (grey e.g.) and the brightness of the LED will be still more dimmed. Some help is welcome. Regards. MBHP_DINx4_DOUTx4_Rev2.1_layout.pdf MBHP_DINx4_DOUTx4_Rev2.1_schematic.pdf
  25. ...board submitted to Tim/SmashTV and my PCB manufacturer makes the same price despite the board is two sides silkscreened.
