  1. it's all about making one dude! it will be all that more loved when completed with your own hands and much to be learned along the way! just jump in with a core module and a TIA chip! Anyone in UK flash me MIOS 1.9 to my PIC as I cannot update using my 'ancient' PCB's and JM module? I have a spare 2002 SID module PCB in sweet condition for exchange, or some vinyl and tings? maybe a few quid... Need this desperate to get the TIA firmware up on my core and start making music! it's all waiting patiently in the 2600 case ;)
  2. Hey man! Just wondered if someone could clear up for me whats going on with J2 (Audio Out) on the schematic... I having problems with the interface that is connected after the 10uf caps (C2 C3), where does the A1 and A0 come from? Is it the TIA A0 and A0 pins (31,32)? Or is it just to help understand the 3 configurations for the different TIA chips? So if I have and PAL TIA I should connect all the pins like the configuration (in blue) and take the outputs from the white (R2, A1)
  3. cheers man! awesome project!!! I went straight to the wiki from the topic ;) can't believe the manager is iPad ready also! good work!
  4. Hey yo! Anyone have a copy of the initial firmware for the TIA project by Antichambre? I have built the interface ect and just need the firmware code to test that it's all good in the hood (I know it's being refined at the moment and is unavailable to download on the Wiki) it must have been posted up at some point as a few peeps have said they've made it and its sweet like but can't seem to find a link anywhere! cheeeeers
  5. wicked mate! thanks for the info! Im on the case now! liking the idea of controlling several functions at once with one pot! making a patch for my Jazzmutant Lemur to work with the sammichSID as we speak! thanks for the links, these are no end of help!
  6. Hey yo yo! sickening times with the sammichSID! love it! I'm working on making a patch to send the various CC info to the different voices/parts and noticed that only the lead engine has the CC messages implemented Have the other channles/voices been set up yet or is this somethign that needs to be done? if it needs to be done, where would someone begin to work on the other engines? any advice would be top! cheers! this chart: http://svnmios.midibox.org/filedetails.php?repname=svn.mios&path=%2Ftrunk%2Fapps%2Fsynthesizers%2Fmidibox_sid_v2%2Fdoc%2Fmbsidv2_cc_chart.txt
  7. nice one dude! cheers for the link! done everything but downloaded the manual always a good idea ;) I'll have a fiddle with some OSC messages with MIOS and let you know man! 5 banks of 127! sick!!!!!
  8. nice one man! will check it! no defo on about OSC as I wanna hook up the monome to the SID via a MAX/MSP patch
  9. yo yo! peeps! just sorted my SID synth (sammichSID) and have uploaded the sick list of preset sounds! thanks! just wondered how I go about creating and saving my own patches using a sysex editor such as MIOS studio? It can be done using the SID screen/menu to save ect but just wondered about any other ways?? and how I would go about using the OSC to hook this bad boy up to something like Max/MSP using my USB touch controller to create some interactions? anyone got any examples, would it not have to be USB/ethernet the SID to work with OSC? edit: oh has anyone got anymore sweet patches to uplaod to the SID, what is the limit of sound patch storage? sorry for all questions just cos I just got it goin and it's so sick, need to know all I can lol ;)
  10. yo sorry couldn't get on the chat and do my dance cos my mate has given me his amiga 500 plug not the c64! bugger! was looking at the pins on the amiga plug and you can get 12v from one pin and 5v from another, maybe it coulda worked if I didn't have the SID chip that only takes 9v! got all the power connections sorted between the core and sid tho! he's on the hunt for the original power so hopefully will be dancing soon!
  11. yo! defo will be on the chat doing a dance when it works! ;) nice one1
  12. Hey man! Ahhh right! Sick nice one! Will have this sucker working later tonight hopefully Maybe I should update the wiki with this info for peeps still attempting the same thing as it really threw me off!! Or are the pcbs im using old now and there's othrer versions out ect! Can,t believe my mate gave up getting this close!
  13. Hello peeps! First post....sorry its not a good one I have recently acquired a smash tv core and sid module (one of each) of a freind who has given up without completing it!! (his loss) I have all the components soldered up and am down to connecting the power up. I have an old c64 plug I can butcher ect Anyways my problem is that when reading the docs available for connecting the power modules (the optimised .pdf) the schematic is asking to connect connections that don't exist such as pwm on j2 of the sid and connected to pwm on j10 of the core??? Sorry for the newb question!
