  1. Lets get started... Goal is a midicontroller for Ableton live, at the beginning as simple midicontroller, maybe later to transfair Labels via max4Live to the controller... it will not a midibox-ng script, it will be a own program based on the MIOS-platform. Hardware first, i designed a 6xSSD1306 + 9 Encoder Board, that is scaleable --- i will use 8-10 off it, its documented here (incl gerbers): http://wiki.midibox.org/daw-encoder-display i already have the Motorfaders and the ready soldered and flashed mf-ng boards, i will controll them with a stm32F4 board... which also handles the encoders and displays. in order to drive the displays stable, i use latigid-ons display driver board. - this is also the offical discuss topic for this project (which is linked in the wiki)
  2. Hello everyone! I'm a complete Newbie in the MIDIbox world, but the last weeks I'm trying to get as much information as possible. But for some questions I could not find an answer. I basically want to build a DAW controller consisting of 32 faders and a channelstrip for every channel. So I quickly use all 64 control possibilities of the AINSER64 module. I read there is a different module wich allows to use two AINSER64 parallel but this still is not enough. Is there a possibility to run multiple Core Modules like the CORE_LPC17 or the version working with two ainser64 (Sorry I could not find the right name) parallel? Or is there a different solution to my problem? I know this project is a little bit heavy specially for a beginner, but I think I can get help for the assembly - I just need to evaluate everything, if my project is even possible or not.   3. Hello, A few years ago I cobbled together a custom MIDI-box using materials and expertise provided by this community. It was a great learning experience for me, and got me thinking about the sheer potential of projects in this area. I got my Electronics degree last year and have since been weighing up my options for the future. Luckily I received a grant from my University to carry on research into a device I was working on for one of my courses, and just recently I've managed to build a working prototype to demonstrate the concept (photo attached). The device is essentially a single channel effects box with onboard DSP and a bluetooth chip to enable parameter adjustment via a smartphone app, which I have also made. Part of the inspiration for the device came from my experiences as an avid DAW user. In a DAW such as FL Studio, you have access to a highly powerful mixer interface with the ability to add/remove/mix/reorder effects at the click of a button. My device - which I've dubbed "Jamp" - is essentially a single channel of this mixer in hardware form, with the user interface exported to a smartphone. So far I've managed to implement 5 band parametric EQ and chorus effects on the DSP while keeping the fidelity acceptable (16 bit at 96KHz), and I'm looking to write more very soon. So far I've only really spoken to guitarists for feedback, so the effects I've included in the roster are tuned accordingly (distortion, compressor, wah-wah etc). I'm utilising a general purpose micro controller rather than a dedicated DSP or FPGA chip as the core, in the hopes of keeping cost and power requirements down. Before I put any serious time into further development, I need to get some views from the wider community to help tailor the design appropriately. I am also hoping to source some collaboration with technical aspects of the project, since I'm just running a one man show at the moment. Although I'm learning a lot with regards PCBs/C++/Java I'm also conscious that my workflows may not be that efficient. So, I was wondering if you any of you guys would be willing to give some input to the project? Is this something you could see yourselves or others using in a live setting or otherwise? Do you know of any other communities that may be interested in such a device? I'm willing to answer questions you may have about the device itself, but forgive me if I don't go into too much detail regarding some of the technicals. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
  4. Hallo und Guten Abend, erstmal großes Lob an alle, die hier mitarbeiten und entwickeln und testen und auch bauen! Das letzte Mal habe ich mir vor ca 5 Jahren das MIDIbox Projekt angeschaut und ich bin echt beeindruckt, wie gut es weiterentwickelt wurde! :) Ich habe mir in den letzten Tagen einen kurzen Entwurf für einen Midicontroller gemacht und wollte mal hier fragen: - ist das Konzept an sicht mit der Midibox NG (STM32F4 oder LTP17??) möglich? (9TouchFader, 8RE mit Schalter, 8-9 OLEDS/LCDs, Buttons,LEDs,...nichts außergewöhnliches oder?) - wo könnte es Schwierigkeiten geben, bzw was ist Hardware- oder Softwaretechnisch nicht möglich? Im Anhang ist ein Übersicht wie die Oberfläche aufgebaut sein soll. Wie einigen vielleicht auffällt, ist das Design sehr stark an Cubase orientiert. Beim Hardwareaufbau und auch bei der Software sehe ist nicht so das Problem, allerdings stehe ich etwas auf dem Schlauch was die Kommunikation zwischen Controller und DAW angeht. Kurz gefasst: Kann der Controller so vollständig mit Cubase funktionieren? Länger: - Cubase bieten den Generischen Controller an, allerdings lassen sich damit viele Funktionen nicht umsetzen (es scheitert schon am fest zugewiesenen Masterfader) - demnach müsste man z.B. auf das Mackie Protokoll umsteigen, dazu habe ich auch eine schöne Dokumentation gefunden? Hat da jemand Erfahrung, funktioniert das damit? Speziell die 8 LCDs/OLEDs? Eine generelle Frage, zu der ich bisher noch keine Antwort gefunden habe: Lassen sich mit sysex-Befehlen theoretisch (notfalls durch ausprobieren) jede Funktion einer DAW steuern, die irgendwie durch einen anderen MIDI-Controller gesteuert werden kann? Damit könnte man ja dann z.B. "fehlende" Funktionen des Mackie Protokolls beheben? Danke schon mal im Vorraus :)
  5. Hallo zusammen, ich möchte mir einen Midi-Controller für mein Homestudio bauen, der 8 Motorfader, 32 Beleuchtete Knöpfe und 8 endlos Encoder haben soll. Nach dem Studium im Netz würde mein Plan so aussehen: 1xCore LPC 17 2xMBHP_DINX4 1XMBHP_DOUTX4 1xMBHP_MF Ist das soweit in Ordnung? Liebe Grüße Tim

Can somebody please answer my dubts / questions ? : 1 ) where can i get an instruction manual or something ? i have been searching in google but can´t find manual / pdf or something to start. 2 ) which software i need to import / export patches / sounds ? 3 ) which software i need to play SID files ? 4 ) where get the last firmware ? no more , for now is the only help i need .
