Hey all! Pumodi here. I just recently got into MIDI Box building and put together a sammichSID (with 2 SwinSids). Build went pretty smooth but I'm currently stuck trying to upload the MIDI software to the PIC. I've been going through the MIOS midi troubleshooting tips and have gotten to the point where I did the 6n138 loopback test to no avail. So I'm fairly sure there is a short somewhere in the MIDI I/O portion of the board but am having difficulty identifying it. Any tips y'all might have would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I know: It's not the 6n138 optocoupler itself. I've put a few in the socket and nothing changed. I did everything here (http://www.ucapps.de/howto_debug_midi.html) up to checking the MIDI input section. I've done a few tests beyond that but the loopback tests are giving me pause. Oddly, if I plug a MIDI cable to a MIDI out port on both the Sammich and my interface the LED's on the bottom of the SwinSid's turn on, even without a power cable plugged in. Is that normal? Also, along that line of questioning, I don't know how to set up the power jumpers for the SwinSids. Do they require power like the 6581 or is it closer to the 8580? Any help y'all can provide would be extremely appreciated! <3

Selling a couple of sammichSIDs over on eBay including one Arctic White Wilba kit built by me about a month ago. They are both sold with SwinSIDs as it has become to time consuming to source original SIDs. I am an experienced builder and have been making gear for twenty years. Both units have been tested and work great. Starting bid is $99 for each unit. I am including the recommended Jameco power supplies in each auction. hi guys how are you. Can somebody help me with this problem ? im using stereo because i have 2 sids. But my problem is that when i play any preset (most of them) with one speaker i hear a note always sustained forever, in the other speaker doesnt happens nothing , the note envelope is good . Here you have a video i did showing you what is happening. My question is , it´s a SID failure ? do you know anyway to fix it or i need to replace ? maybe i need to do a factory reset ? is possible to do a reset in the sammichSID ? how do it ?¿ thjanks very much, in minute 12 you can here the sustained note (never finish) always sounding , not the same in the other speaker (in this speaker the preset has finished sounding)

Sorry if this has been covered before (usually the case) ;) but could anyone point me in the right direction to how to add cv inputs to my sammichSID please? Is it a case if adding one of the modules for adding cv in or out to a regular midibox sid to the sammich? Or would there be more to it? I've seen the ninstrument guy has euroracked his with cv ins and even added extra rows of.leds to correspond with that also but on contact there wasn't enough interest to release a kit or whatever and then I asked for help/plans on how I can diy it with no joy/response :) I know it could be easier grab a cv to midi module to convert the cv to midi (which I did) but isn't the same as patching it up I feel Thanks!

Hello. i have a sammichSID and im looking for a software (specially for windows) that allows me to play sid music files / format from the internal sids of the sammichSID . Is that possible ?
