Well as you probably know my next project is the MIDIbox 64.

I call it the "Dub Master", and this is what it will

be used for. ;)

This is work in progress and there is alot of work to be done.

Besides im unemployed right now so "moneys" been hard to come by. :)

But with the help of some very nice people, it looks like

this is going to turn out good.

The first panels arrived a couple of weeks ago.

My girlfriend who is a light designer/technician used AutoCAD

to draw blueprints for the panels.

Yes guys, it's totally amazing!

My girlfriend likes to discuss elektronics with me.

She even helps me with my devices. And she is a girl...  :o  :o  :o

More women into the DIY electronics buisness i say!

...back to the matter at hand..

I then sent the bp's to a friend on the Swedish Electronics Forum

called "Fagge".

He fed the bp's through his CNC cutter and this is the result!

Like a glove!

I love wood, so i visited a friend and he gave me some oak.

Same sort i used for my SoundLab.

I love how this type of oak look when you stain it.

I wanted this case to be perfect so i went to see

one of Swedens best carpenter, Hans Steckmest.

And as usuall, when he does something, the result is always perfect!

This man is over 70 years of age and still doing some of the finest woodwork.

Im not gonna use Mahogany stain this time around.

I want this case to look more brownish and darker than the SoundLab.

Then i'll just apply a clear coat and the result will be awesome, im shure.

Had to remove some leftover aluminum before fitting the panels.

I decided to go for 25st 60mm faders.

mmm wood porn!!!

I still have the overhead panels to design.

And it's gonna be a tight fit for the rotary pots.

Luckily a guy from the Swedish Electronics Forum called Mr.Mister,

helped me find the right pots. Thank you!

And these small aluminium knobs are going to be mounted on those pots.

Perfect size and i like the look Thanx Bebbe for the knobs!.

Hight(Back): 7cm

Hight(front): 4cm

Yes, it's big, just like i want it :)

As you see i still have alot to do.

Just though i would give an update, so you don't think im dead or anything :D

Hey guys!

I know iv'e been quiet a loong time now, but iv'e had alot to do.

New job and everything :)

Well here are some small uppdates.

I Decided to build this:

And the curcuit looks like this:

I visited my carpenter friend Hans today and he is building me a beautyfull Case in wood for the PSU.

YES wood  :-*

Same oak that is used for the DubMaster frame.

And it is going to be stained and clear coated just like the frame.

So these two units will have a "kit" look.

Also the power cords on the PSU will be "dressed" in tweed, to get that ol' style look.

Im thinking beige....it will look real nice against the dark wood. :)

Also iv'e recieved the last panels:

As you can see i haven't stained the frame yet, im doing that today :)

(it's like sex for me..)

Oh yeah, heres the metal butt for it!

That case looks interesting and pretty unusual for controller with faders. I wants to be put upright rather than horizontal. :)

The case is a regular ol' style sloaping case, and the faders wont be used horisontaly.

I get these veroboards from a shop in a neighboring town here in Sweden.

The size im using has a price tag at 4.85 U$D (converted from 29 Swedish kronas)

They have these boards in three different types and three different sizes.

Price depends on size only.

I love these boards, cuz they are so ezy to work with.

Actually alot of people over the world ask me where i get them from,

and i must say im supprissed these boards aren't available everywhere.

I wanted to say this controller looks like it designed to stand upright (as you answered) like modular synths, but same time I expect to see faders to be horizontal.

Do you mean you prefer standing faders?

It depends... for space saving having faders vertical could really save alot of space in small studios, but if you move the faders ofter I think having them vertical would be less conformable to use.

It will be used in the position it is placed like on the picture.

Iv'e started wiring this beast and im looking for schematics for the CORE - AIN - AIN connections.

Iv'e read the instructions on both Ucapps and SmashTV, but it's not getting through.

I have a hard time understanding numbers and plain text, i need something visual.

aaw man....i just hate doing this...geez...

then proceede by placing your hand over the sphincter, grasping it firmly.

Then wait until you start shitting yourself like a volcano.

That's what it feels like everytime i do something stupid like this.

It's like looking for your weener in the dark with a big pichfork.

btw.: In the last picture I saw your "toolbox".

I think I've got the same one. They are pretty cheap and low-quality. I've got them always with me just in case I've got to repair something just before a gig.

The problem is the rubber coating of the tongs. AFAIK those are often made with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), that cause cancer when they penetrate the skin. That's why I've put some sticky tape around the handles.

What are those faders from, and how does it feels when mowing. How is "wobbling factor"?

SLP: Normally i don't use those tools.

I was too lazy to get my real set....but i'll definetly put some tape on the grips now.

Sasha: These faders are the only stuff in my controller that sucks BIG time.

No smoothness what so ever.

I will swap these for some high quality faders,

but i don't have the money or the time before the live gig im doing.

I kid you not, these faders are wobbly, tacky and sucky in the "feel".

Though they do give a stable value reading when measured,

so hopefully i wont get any spiking values during performance.....hopefully that is..  ;D

I got these of Tradera (like Ebay for Sweden).

Trust me, i got them at a real nice price, wich is good cuz of the low qual.

I only paid 16 U$D's for 100 of these suckers. and i think these are the same pots as these (found at Conrad): "Shitty pots"

Though..they sell em att a very high price...
