Sebo Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Hi I all:Recently I finished a MIDIbox SID for a friend (Bruno). I want to share somepics because the enclosure is a C64 power supply.
TD Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 nice one.. lucky friend.. that looks tidy mate!..im guessing it's a single?
LenweTasasartir Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 You did that?! I was in shock after opening PSU and had problem with simple cable change! You're crazy if you taken out all resin (or whatever that hard, big, milk-coloured block inside is)! Outside looks great. Any photos of boards?
Sebo Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 Yes, it's a single SID one.The PSU didn't have any resin or strange stuff inside, but it was obviouslyrepaired, so maybe someone did the cleaning before me.I don't have any pictures of the inside (I think), and since I don't have itanymore, I can't take any now. May be some day I go to Bruno's houseand open it, but I don't think he let me do that :)Thanks for the comments.
cyutaeha Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 or whatever that hard, big, milk-coloured block inside isI went and opened up mine out of curiosity and was like,"WTF is this stuff?!"
/tilted/ Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Nice work.I wish my friends would make me cool synths... actually, that would take the fun out. For me, at least half the fun is in the building. ;)
ganchan Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 may i ask you how you have cut the LCD hole? it seems so perfect like a lasercut :)
Sebo Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 Hi:No lasercut at all. I drawed a rectangle where the LCD will fit, then drilled holesclose to the line, leaving minimum space between them. I used a cutting plier tocut between holes and take away the rectangle, then a file to smooth out theborder.Very low tech :)
