If You must press slider realy hard to get any sound it You'll have to replace this fader. I think, you can try to resolder joints of this one first. Replaceing slider can't be to difficult, becouse it's exploitation part.

What the "CS" is? I've no LEDs connected, and have disconnected SID board. I'm using Commodore one, which provides 1.7A at 5V and 1A at 9V. It's possible, that I've somewhere short circuit, so It would be nice to know what happens in this moment, which pins and connectors are being probed/changed.

In Poland it costs not more then 2E and can be bought at several brand. I still have scars on my hands after screw which handle blade suddenly got broken. Most wonderfull tool I've ever seen.

Smaller or bigger one? In bigger ones there is just trafo and four diodes - it could be used to power midibox using low-drop pull-down voltage regulators (not 7805). In smaller ("fast" chargers) ones you can find voltage converter which is probably to noisy to audio equipment and couldn't be filtered enought.

Ok, LCD problem solved. E pin was partly disconnected in some way. On LCD interconnection test, after going out from E line test, LCD goes blank. After fixing second SID audio channel, I was going to check how this one sounds. Checked testtone - clear. If done SID interconnection test, i've lower volatages on A3 and A4 (3,5V, but I've uncalibrated multimeter...) , +5 at rest. Unfortunately when I'm trying to start MIDIboxSID app, it restarts on "Launching CS". Thanks for help ;) EDIT: Same without SIDs board. DSCN4166.JPG

A mo?e kto? ma lu?n? klawiatur?? Bo szukam pe?nowymiarowej 5 oktawowej w przyjaznej cenie. Mo?e by? uszkodzona elektronika b?d? jej brak.

Hi guys! I've changed MIDI interface to working one, and I'm possible continue creating my MB-SID. Let's begin from LCD: When I power everything on, black bar appears on LCD and after some time it goes blank or... It displays something what's on the photos. Datasheet: http://sklep.avt.pl/photo/_pdf/BTHQ_22005VSS.pdf And SID: I've napierzaza Double SID module with 2x8580's. Testtone runs well, sounds clear, has 1kHz. But if I change app to sid synt, and play something on keyboard it sounds strange. In sounds.mp3 I've attached recording which contains 6 ocataves played from low to high. @Thorsten But parts for PIC burner costs around 3 Euro ;) I've built it on vero, and it works well. Price difference between PIC16F and burned PIC18F is much bigger.

So, You have 2A only from LCD's.I suggest temperature desintegrator ;) But... why LCD must be backlighted from regulated voltage?! Can't it be just around +5V?

IMHO, You can use 3A version of LM7805 - LM78T05. Ofcourse with radiator ;) If 3A is still to low, You can connect regulators together as at picture, or just use separate one for backlight of every LCD

Hi, I've just burned up MIDI interface at SB Live! (bridged +5 with ground not RX with TX... so idiotic!) and need to change connection way. Becouse I've two spare COM ports at PC, and found LTC module at side I'm going to build it. Can I use LTC with bootstrap loader to upload code? Will baudrate be ok? Can I use other MIDI equipment with LTC? Regards, Lenwe
