janvanvolt
Heya,i am using a MB6582 with the Original C64 (1) Powersupply. I am experiencing hum on either of the 4 channels; is there a decent way to get rid of it ?If the problem is related to the C64 (1) powersupply, is there any "decent" priced alternative which avoids generating "hum" on the audio path ? Futureman
Ground the audio inputs of the SID's to earth.. this will drop the background noise by about 80%I put switched inputs on mine, so when nothing is connected, the input is shorted to ground. That is assuming you are talking about the SID's background noise, and not just pure 60 Hertz (Or 50 Hertz for us Aussies & NZ'ers) which might relate to your power supply / options.RegardsMike

Wilba
And the Optimised PSU...The MB-6582 base PCB contains the "optimised PSU".
stryd_one
:D *facepalm* :-[Well aren't switching jacks on the MB6582 parts list?Maybe this is good old fashioned SID noise :(
Futureman
There are no input jacks on the MB-6582 parts list..Mine is special..RegardsMike
Wilba
There are headers above each SID with input/ground/output.If you're not connecting feedback pots to these, you should put a jumper between input and ground.
