nILS
There seem to be lots of problems with MIDIbox SID PSUs - here's a simple tested and working alternative. It's what I used in the fnpSID and it works nicely w/o any problems. Read before you build:- Input is any 9VAC wallwart. A 12VAC wallwart will work, but you'll prolly want heatsinks on both vregs. DC wallwarts might work, but you'd wanna be careful to stay in the ~10-13V limit.- This circuit will only work for 6582As and 8580s. Don't replace the 7809 with an 7812 and expect the 7805 to not get extremely hot.- Since the 5V are taken off the 9V rail all current drawn on the 5V rail goes through the 7809 as well. That's why you shouldn't use that circuit on big projects (as in a full mb6582 or anything else with a big CS). The biggest I've used it in is a dual core, quad SID environment with a 20x2 backlit LCD. This still works w/o heatsinks.Enjoy.mbSID_PSU_sch+brd.zipmbSID_PSU_sch+brd.zip
