Problem sourcing some parts for the GM5

Hello,

It is not easy for me to source two parts for the GM5 in the Netherlands...

1000nF (1uF) Ceramic

and the 16Mhz Crystal

for three GM5 boards. I have verified with Voti and a local store. Both don't source the 1uF ceramic capacitor. Does anyone have these in the Netherlands for a reasonable price, without me having to pay an absurd high price for shipping costs? (like what webstores do for just these parts).

greets,

Gerard

Have you tried the places on here?

http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=where_to_order_components

RS were the cheapest shipping / minimum order wise i could find for Ireland,

im guessing they would be similar for Holland:

Farnell came 2nd but they required a minimum order of 35 euro.

  • 2 weeks later...

As the GM5 is a pre-programmed Atmel AVR, the MIDI (serial) port speed will be referenced to the clock speed, it may work but the MIDI speed would be 35154 baud (and not 31250) so it wouldn't be able to talk to anything :)

EDIT: It probably wouldn't work as 8Mhz (16/2) is the maximum clock speed of the AT90USB162
