rosch
hi! as understand it the BLM is also a standalone device with own dedicated firmware, so does it work with the SeqV3 also or are some features of the SeqV4 strictly required for a proper communication and all available functions? julienvoirin
imo no but why not upgrade to seq v4 (just change the core module) ? hardware stay the same (you will have to add a SDCard btw) Edited May 17, 2010 by julienvoirin
TK.
Unfortunately this isn't possible. There is no free memory anymore, there is no spare fast accessible MIDI port, and the firmware structure doesn't allow to run low-priority tasks so that BLM handling won't affect the sequencer timings. All the reasons why I switched to a new platform. Best Regards, Thorsten.
rosch
...just change the core module nono, i haven't even finished my V3 and wouldn't like to throw the ultracore away... seems like i have to build both versions then
TK.
At least the PIC part of the ultracore can be re-used for the BLM :) Best Regards, Thorsten.
rosch
i like them both. by the time i got the ultracore the V4 hadn't even been released. it's a shame that i haven't finished one yet. but when i thought about it back then i figured it's cool to have them both, because they're actually two different devices (with different led matrices now). but this video for the new BLM is a real teaser, immediate wanna-play!
