kogz23 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi, I have a MB-808 style sequencer which seems to be working apart from one problem. When I select ALL with the instrument select encoder it crashes the machine and does a force reboot. Any ideas? Cheers Al
TK. Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi, which MIOS and midibox_808 firmware version are you using? Best Regards, Thorsten.
kogz23 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi, the mios is 1.9g and the firmware is the setup_808_with_swingpot.hex version. cheers
TK. Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 I uploaded this firmware variant (of the midibox_808_v1a package), but can't reproduce the crash. It's possible to select all instruments with the encoder, and changes take place on all tracks (as expected) Does it crash immediately at your side, or are you doing something special? Best Regards, Thorsten.
kogz23 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi, the encoder selects the other instruments and they behave as expected. Someone else suggested that it could be a power issue, which makes sense as when I select ALL all of the leds light up very briefly then it crashes. Cheers Al
TK. Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi, yes, this makes sense - it could be related to a power issue! You can check this by disconnecting the LCD backlight. Best Regards, Thorsten.
kogz23 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Hi, yes it was the power. I changed the power source and all's good. I've only hooked up the leds for the 16 steps. I am going to add the other 17 buttons, for pattern/song select etc. But I'm thinking of leaving out the 17 leds that go with these buttons. Do you think it would be a problem for navigating your way around? Or do you think there are any leds out of these 17 that would be essential? Cheers Al
TK. Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Hi, I would say: 1st priority: GP and ABCD LEDs 2nd priority: Mute/Pattern/Song/Edit, Gate/Aux and Live LED 3rd priority: Stop/Play LED 4th priority: Rew/Fwd, Shift and Alt LED Best Regards, Thorsten.
sneakthief Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Hi, yes it was the power. I changed the power source and all's good. yeah, i called it: http://eight-oh-eight.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=583 ;)
